I don't know what the odds are... but given there have been virtually no rumors about a 5D replacement, it would be a big surprise if they did announce a 5DmII (or whatever it would be called) at the same time as a 30D replacement.
I really dunno why some of you're so bothered with my links. I posted a link to a real newspaper article! Not just a nonsense speculating debate on another forum. And yeah, that make it more legitimate. At least to me...

I think remembering it was quite a big surprise when the 1DIII was announced instead of the 40D everybody was -already- expecting?
I have been told by a management contact in Jessops that the 40D will be announced in the UK on the 20th August (no spec) , his pronoucements in the past have been reasonabley accurate.
PS Jessops are downsizing their shop numbers by 81 and are going to concentrate more on DSLRs than compacts in future in order to avoid competing with the likes of Argos and other general superstores.

I'm crossing my fingers for a rip-roaring 40D with an auto-magnificent button on it. I'll certianly give up weather sealing and a useless print button for that

I remember something like that but I'm not sure. I remember hearing about the MkIII but don't know when I heard it, before or after announcement. I was so wrapped up with wanting a 40D that any other camera just didn't count at the time.
Like right now if they announced the 7D or whatever the 5D replacement is, and no 40D, I would be devastated quite frankly. I would definitely be curious about the 7D but still wondering where the heck the 40D was! I hope that doesn't happen!

This is the official 40D rumor discussion thread. A place for all to recycle rumors from FM and various sites to pma...com and to recycle from pma...com back to here.
On another site, they posted the stock number at Best Buy for the 40D and suggested people go to best buy and get a clerk to look it up. I just did that. It's showing in their internal stock, but not the internet stock, which you can check from home. Same info as the BB tag that's floating around, except there is no date for stock arrival. Stock was 0 for all the stores in my area.
The stock number is 8472244 if anybody wants to try it.
