Well done. If that's a HDR you've done an excellent job of keeping it looking natural. (If it's not HDR, well then that's some mighty fine exposure tweaking.)

The Image is a single exposure with some layer tweaks in post. I tried HDR and just can't seem to get it right, still working on it though

hmm just fooling around with my new camera in and around the house while it's dark and stormy outside. Abit of reading in the manual etc... I made this shot with the live view option. not that it added anything, but it was the mode the camera was set to, just to try it out. This one is shot @ iso3200 135mm F2.8 1/20 sec. I'm quite happy with the results i can get with this camera, it's more than i could ever dream of, amazing
Sorry for this high iso crap picture, but i'm quite enthusiastic about it and wanted to share it here Oh well it's my default test subject, i guess you can appreciate it...

I think it looks cool. I doesn't look like a hdr to me (which is a good thing, most of the time hdr's lack contrast, but that's my opinion). What lens did you use? i see some purple fringing. I have a 10.5 fish which might fringe a bit, but not like this.
Its a 10.5mm Nikon Fisheye, D2X. This is a 3 shot composite and as i said in my original post, my first attempt at HDR (i dont know the process to give it the HDR look - which is why i asked for input) it was -2 neutral and +2.
I put it through photomatix to put them together and i messed with the sliders in the tonal mapping window, but had no idea what i was doing really, just messed with it and that was the result of my first attempt.
