Man, this is the tone that I was chasing for weeks, the "magical blue tint" .. This is so rare to accomplish, usually it is done by taking advantage of the cyan from a cloudless day (photoshop...maybe). This shot has the depth and the 3D feel to it that it sorts of makes the image tangible...rare shot man!

You should contribute all your shots on this Flickr pool: http://www.flickr.com/groups/toxic_colors/pool/ , it really suits it there . Thanks for sharing and it's great to have shots that are always unique and original.

Have fun!

Hi Folks,

There is a lot of talent running arround with a Nikon camera. Like always say ..... there is no substitute for quality .

Here are some of mine pictures ......

This is nice too but you need to push the highs a bit and pop the colours a bit...it would be nice if photoshop is not involved, just straight out of the cam .

Ivan, those shots are some of the most interesting images I've ever seen. I don't think it's possible to see them without stopping and actually spending time looking at them. Amazing colors.

This thread hasn't gotten "old" or "tired" or watered-down as time has progressed at all. Truly a compliment to the fine photogs that contribute to this forum. Cheers!

Photo is straight from the cam, no photoshop tricks from my side. I'll try to enhance the shot a bit an post it later. BTW it was my first day out with the Tokina, so for give me if the photo is not perfect

Rey... those images are insane with detail... wow... as for the "blue" you're looking for... a simple channel swap in p-shop, might get you there. That's how I achieved the craziness with that IR shot.

Guy... yeah, I can see that on the 4400... never thought of that.. it was the jet trails from the blue angels, everyone was looking up...

DJ, thanks... I'm pretty certain this thread will go on and on... you know besides us gear heads, jimmy riggers, DIYers, we may love our gear tons, but we tend to love the output more than the gear, at least I do

Nice colors tim, the first image is a bit larger, imo that's better . The error you've got maybe due to that pageturn bug we see here on the forum...
I went out today with Carlos again. Always a camera with me. It was again nasty weather, very overcast, so i had to bump the iso on my D2x to the unbelievable amount of iso640. Can you guys imagine that? iso640 . the rest of the info you might like to know: 200mm F3.5 and 1/320sec shutterspeed (just because Carlos is moving pretty quickly sometimes). Oh yeah and it was done with High speed crop mode. Not to get 8fps, but to crop the image straight in camera since 200mm just won't cut it for me. And those files gets nice-n-small...

My D2H is still a terrific everyday camera, even if not having a D300 saddens me
Here is a shot from today with the 18-35 f/3.5-4.5, handheld.

Clearly Cartier-Bresson inspired but what do you guys think?

Love it man!! And yes I am a fan of Cartier-Bresson, and that's that dandy D2h you got from me eh?

It's always good to see ex-gear in good hands!

Indeed it is Still running strong. I just need to get a weather-sealed wide angle lens. I am surprised at how much of a rain the 18-35 will take, but I don't want to risk it. Maybe a 17-55 2.8 is in my future.

Cool looking moth (butterfly?) there Raymond!

Here's a shot from a few days ago. I already posted it in another forum, but I like how the petal is backlit.

Specs: D2x and 70-200mm w/500D balanced in my right hand; SB-800 on SC-17 cord in my left hand; and focused with my neck muscles. I just love composing and lighting without a tripod while on the verge of dropping my whole rig.

These pics just keep on getting better and better. Moving away from Ted's, Raymond's and Daniel's offerings which are outstanding to one more suited to a travelogue here is the Bogheh-ye Seyed Roknaddin with Jameh Mosque in background, Yazd, Iran. Taken from the roof of the Silk Road Hotel (Great value & Highly recomended) with my camera jammed against the wall. My 164th digital pic.
