Just what are you sayin? The first two are excellent irrespective of the fact that MF kit was used and the noise is negligible.
The photog does know what he's doing and it's plain to see. To suggest that he should "master the D7000 before venturing into D7100 land is an insult and uncalled for...just sayin.

It is hardly an insult as it wouldn't make hardly any difference if it was used instead of the D7000 on the pics he posted.
I would welcome being "insulted" by Trenchmonkey.
Ahh heck, i have the obscenely priced D800 and I have yet to master it, however it aint gonna stop me from trying to capture souls with my camera obscura!! of course i cn use the d40 no big, but where would the fun be in that?? i like to aid the economy anyhow! okie dookie mindless banter over. go shoot and happy photography whether its a leica or point and shoot!

There's something exciting about wading thru waist deep of water with 15K worth of equipment sitting just inches above water just to get a shot.... it's all worth it in the end (I guess)

Last looks a tad front focused AND noisy
In my opinion, noise shouldn't really be a point of critique, and keep in mind he is manual focusing so not body related. - I found the D7000 to have too much noise even at ISO 400, not really anything the photog can do about that especially starting at F5.6 - I mean you can use software of course - but you would lose a little of that feather detail.
asiostygius (edit)I recommended the D600 but it was brought to my attention you already have it.

lol - for $300 more dollars you can get a refurbished D600 and then you won't have to worry too much about noise - thats what I would look at if I were you - plenty of cropping for wildlife.
Cheers
If you read his profile, he has a D600 as well. My guess is that he uses the D7000 when he needs the extra reach because of the Dx factor on FF lenses. I believe you have more pixels on the D7000 to play with over the D600 when shot in Dx mode.

Well thats what I get for not reading, sorries. In that case I would wait until the elusive D400 comes out and skip the D7100 - the buffer will disappoint anyway.
Couple more from my everglades trip. Not the best light set up as the hawk was back-lit from the sun but when I asked him to move to the other side he just squawked and flew away.
Birds these days are so grumpy!
D800 with 300 f2.8 and a 1.7 TC Handheld from my van window

IKR, I had that same problem when I asked this eagle to stay low with color behind him

I especially like the second one, Kitehog. Beautiful bird
