Not a super special shot, but it's from my newly acquired 24-70... maybe I'm crazy, but so far it seems better than my 1.8 primes were. I got an awesome copy!!

A few from the 22 April, 27 April and some from today. Raw files converted in Phase One Capure 7, some files had some tint WB adjustments, esp polarizer shots but the rest have no adjustments at all and no cropping. Cheers.

Heh they're everywhere on the sand
iirc they're antlion larvae traps
Ant walks into cone, cannot get up steep slope
Scrabbling dislodges more grains of sand
Ant tumbles down into the base of cone

Lovely shots TOUGEFC, particularly the second one, love the colours!

Checked out the recently re-opened Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) today, haven't been in there since I was a kid. It was great! Could have spent plenty more hours wandering around there, and plenty to photograph too.

They also had an installation as part of the Dark MOFO festival which has just started here, called Afloat Asunder, very interesting.

I was lucky this late afternoon to find some birds eating fruits.
This was one of my best shots:

D7000 + Nikkor 400mm f/5.6 K ED ai'd + monopod, ISO 1600, wide open at 1/160s. ~25% cropped.
Frugivory is not uncommon among some woodpecker species, like this one.

It seems this 40 years old, outdated and "garbage" manual focus (non IF!) lens can still take decent pictures.
