Its been a while since I posted anything but my daughter wanted to do a photo shoot the other day and even though it was 29 degrees outside we had a great time

Thanks! But like I mentioned, I only take advantage of the raw conversion and profiles from Phase One and the rest is perfected on the shoot.

I finally got my D2Xs back from repair. Used the still broken 17-55/2.8 on these. On the drive home from Bruce County. Terrible snow squalls, poor visibility for driving. But amazing landscapes, wish I had my tripod with me and more time

Hey thanks Avi! Yes the D3X should be fine

, I had just recently cleaned the sensor (again) with pure acetone and is sparkling clean once more... (Don't attempt the acetone cleaning if your not confident but yes, Nikon service centres use pure acetone to clean the sensors, without any harm to it). Cheers.

Heliopan Linear Polariser

Tell me more about that linear polarizer - I keep reading everywhere they are useless on DSLRs (metering off, etc.), but I have a couple of these laying around and shoot MF glass on the D600 - sure would like to use my linear polarizers again, since they cover some of the filter thread diameters I don't have a CPL for.

Hey thanks Kevin! Indeed, the colors are great straight out of the cam. The white balance and metering with the D3X handled well using a linear polariser.

I mentioned above that the D3X hamdled well with the linear polariser. Other bodies I've used, I have to normally increase around 2-3 stops to get the midtones right. I own 2 Heliopan linear polarisers and one was the 77mm thread and not sure how the D3X does it but it meters very well even at full polarisation. My advise is to experiment with your linear pols and monitor your blue midtones then adjust if necessary. Cheers!
