This the last Nikon shot (taken a few minutes ago) from my D1X, and probably my last Nikon shot, at least for a good long while.

I'm delivering the D1X to its new owner today, and the D7000 was shipped to its new owner yesterday.

I still have some AIS and D lenses to use on M4/3 and Canon EOS, so I'm not completely abandoning Nikonland. Always a foothold in my heart.

Maybe down the line, I'll get a D800 or its successor.

My relationship with Nikon has been an up and down courtship, but had a lot of beautiful images along the way.

So, I guess this rates as one of my best Nikon shots on a few different levels.

The D800 sure is interesting. . .

Thanks! I took these images and almost didn't do anything with them until someone on the MF Nikon Glass Thread gave me some very helpful constructive advice about my panos and stitching.

My photography and post production skills have grown immensely since joining FM!

I have a busy summer of photography planned. It would be great if that D800 would show up before July, if not, then the tried and true D700 will surely do me fine.

You have a great eye for b&w, the distribution of tones is just perfect-o. I'm guessing it's a blended image? And taken with the 24-70?
