Thanks, and yeah it was a 500 thank God. Still terrifying as the bear was less than 30yds away walking toward me. That shot was the last of a series before I jumped into a nearby minivan

Over a milllion viewers with so many beautifull shots being posted here is something that is not easily duplicated by any other photographic equipment manufacturers.
This proves that Nikon do produce the best photographic equipment over time that many photogrphers trust and use, including NASA. So far they are only known to use only 2 brands Hasselblad and Nikon or Carl Zeiss and Nikkor.
This is definately a better thread than reading the White Knight's thread that starts with: "Do I have a problem with my camera or lens because it is front or back focusing?" Or the infamous Error 99.
But that does not mean that Nikon is doing its best in lens design lately. Look at the 28-70mm f2.8 vs 24-70mm f2.8, the newer 24-70mm f2.8 even though has higher resolution, but has higher distortion as well as CA too. Even if distortion can be easily auto corrected by PP by pre-program, you would not expect a pro photog to correct every single shot, and in some instances photos are not allowed to be PP due to its use in the court of law as evidence. That is consider as tempering with evidence as in my case of application.
Better goes back to hidding because White Knights are coming.
