I found this little guy (ok, not so little -- it's a giant swallowtail butterfly) freshly out of its chrysalis, somehow crawling across my living room floor. I think it must have been in a houseplant. Before the cats got to it, I offered it a dry place to hang out until it was ready to fly.
(D700 + Sigma 150/2.8, SB-800 in a 20" softbox, a couple of pieces of foam core, and an old black t-shirt)
Passed this tree this very rainy afternoon on the way to a volunteer gig, had to go back and capture it. Difficult to find a spot to park at this point in the road with the flooding.
