I had to take a semi-foamer shot of some trains in the snow today. Inadvertantly left my camera on 800 ISO.. I wish Nikon's had a setting to reset the ISO to 200 after cycling the power button since I am such a tard and make this mistake all the time!
Welcome back Zach (Zaitz)! I see you haven't missed a beat!
Thanks JR! I had went out to find locations quite a few times but could just never see anything I liked, a bit to picky I think. Hopefully I can keep shooting.

Gary, what beautiful country you have there.
No doubt! I am trying to get to Banff early June or late May.
Go easy, first time with off camera lighting:

No it doesn't make any sense to have the water steaming but a friend and I were just playing around trying to learn the flashes. I think we are going to have to move to radio triggers though. The line of sight thing just isn't working, even in the small room we were in.
I really like that second one. That lens is calling my name. I've been looking at the Sigma 24 or 28mm f/1.8 and it seems to be pretty good. Maybe that'd curb my desire to spend 2k.

The Sigma 24 1.8 is a bargain if you get a good copy. I had one in the past and it was excellent. I wouldn't recommend it on FX...but on DX it is definitely worth a shot. I had one that I thought was very sharp wide open, but more times than not I see people with very soft copies. Corners are pure mush on FX

Interesting. I've pondered getting the 24 1.8, that's not going to happen now that I'm using a 17-35 and Zeiss 35 f2.
