Very impressive thread. Here are a few from a recent trip to Scotland. The Scottish Highlands is one of the most photo-rich areas I've visited. If you ever have the opportunity to go - take it.
The approaching storm image is a 3-shot HDR using Photomatix. The Castle Stalker shot was from about 1/2 mile away. The castle ruins are not accessible except by boat at certain times of the year.
Shux, those are cool shots Richard! I was planning to visit Scotland next year, hopefully and visit 'a lot' of breathtaking Scottish landscapes...man I can't wait, lol. There are a lot of places here in NZ that resemble Scottish landscapes , that's why I'm going to them first before Scottland . The only way to justify those wonderful landscapes is to use a 6x12 or 6x17 Linhof panoramic camera which I might be purchasing soon. Have fun!
Thanks for the comments. ReyGay when we were in Scotland, we said it looked like photos we had seen of New Zealand. If you're interested, some of the Harry Potter movies were shot in an area called Glencoe or Rannoch Moor.
If you're going to Scotland, be sure to take in the northwest highlands including Glencoe, Rannoch Moor and the Isle of Skye. The Eilean Donan Castle is on the road to Skye.
actually a 100 % crop from my image on page 61 (url: 60)
I have recently been a lot into 100 % crops for decoration matters,
e.g. screen backgrounds ("wallpapers") and sort of "photo paintings"
I like the grainy and blurry structure of the oof areas in 100 % crops
maybe we need a specific thread with our favorite Nikon wallpapers
who says you can't sell 100 % crops ...
