That IS very 3-dimensional, very cool...
Just one question, though. What the hell is it?
I was walking along the edge of Bon Tempe Reservoir below Mount Tamalpais north of San Francisco with a friend. He was shooting with my Canon 5D and I was shooting with the Nikon D200. This is at the end of the reservoir where pipes leading to a water treatment plant about half a mile away exit through a concrete structure. I've always assumed that these gears and wheels are used to control the flow of water out of the reservoir into these pipes. I'd never photographed them before but I was having so much fun shooting wide open with the Sigma 30mm lens that as I walked by the brightly painted gear this possibility struck me. I'm even more impressed with the D200 after this day of shooting.
Here's another shot with the same lens of light reflected on moving water over a shallow bottom.
hm i shot this one at the not so amazing nikon iso800 with a consumer lens (that bokeh is just ugly right? but i'm lucky that the terrible noise is attracting a lot of attention).
FCOBB your first photo (pier and lake) is stunning. I would pay good money for a print to frame and display...and I believe many others would too. Beautiful!
I also like whats being achieved with just the 'average' equipment. The consumer stuff people are using, like Steens photos ,Raymonds flower and zoo shots, Lindaz' and others.
That rusty nut shot is mind blowing Curtis. I just keep staring at it. The effect with these 3D glasses is fantastic. Hang on,.... I'm not wearing any glasses. :worried:
Thanks, those are my two proudest achievements so far.. the wonderful thing is.. those are the exact images that I took except for some minor levels adjustment. No cropping whatsoever :P
Keaka,
you mentioned with the flower shots that you used a Nikkor on a canon, what about the last one?? was it the sigma on a canon, or sigma on a nikon?? Either way it's a ncie pic, and I'm actually wondering if I recognise the location.... where was it taken??
