I personally like to show a little bit more of what's going on with portraits.
Saw some nice drifting stuff a few pages back. I haven't gotten onto the track at all this summer () but here are two favorites from last year. D300 & 70-200 VR.
Shot this tonight at the base of the new 35W bridge in Minneapolis. The blue light is provided by LED lighting, a first for bridges in the U.S. apparently.

Woah...that's too close. You're daughter must have been shaken by the event. What a tragic day that was!
Regarding the settings, it's actually an HDR image, blended from five bracketed exposures centered around 1 sec shutter speed at f/8 with the ISO at 200.
