D200 --5 shot HDR processed using Photomatix then tone mapped. Brought into NX as nef for further processing - Curves, color balance and color control points. Used the selection brush quite a bit to darken areas and lighten other areas using with curves and color balance. Saved as tiff and brought into CS2 for sharpening with high pass and convert to srgb from the prophoto space.
ALDOT and others - holy mackeral!! sorry - i was being facetious. this thread is incredible - i have never seen so many wonderful photographs in one place in my entire life. i am literally stunned at the quality and wonderful composition here - the vast majority of the work here is absolutely professional quality. i regret that my post was misinterpreted.
as to my work, i spent my career shooting a 4x5 for the Llibrary of Congress documenting historic architecture. much of my work is accessible through the HABS/HAER collections on the LOC website under "American Memory". you can also see my work in my five books, the last of which is the 3rd edition of "The Portland Bridge Book" which i produced for sharon wood wortman.
again, sorry i didnt add a smiley face or something to my snarky post. this is surely one of the best threads of photos i ihave ever seen. great work everyone, and thanks so much for posting so many beautiful shots.
A couple from the Susquehanna River in Maryland on Sunday. First shot is a D70s with 35-70mm 3.3-4.5 lens and two close-up Filters (+4 and +2) on it. Second one was shot with a D70 using 70-300mm 4.5-5.6G cheapo lens.
omeega - that is a fantastic shot, and excellent post processing. the sky reflections in the windshield are a bit distracting, and could be minimized somewhat, but otherwise you have demonstrated mastery of HDR image control.
I'm a complete beginner and am astounded by the quality of the photos on this thread. These are basically snapshots from my Nikon D-70 with a Nikon AF-S DX VR 18-200 f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED. The leaf shot was taken with a cheap CoolPix.
