The samples I posted were using a 82mm Kenko Pro 1 Digital Polarizer on the 16-35 MkII. Either they started making them, or it's a pretty darn good knockoff.

Sorry if this was asked and answered on page 84, but have we determined whether the new 16-35 II requires a "slim" filter to avoid vignetting or can it take the usual "thick" threaded kind?

Is that the one you bought on ebay I checked with the both the Camera Store in Calgary and photofilter.com and was told that Kenko doesn't make a 82mm pro 1.

Yes, it was off eBay. It came in the normal plastic case, has all the markings on the side of the filter as you would expect. For $75 I was willing to gamble.

Ross, I certainly have noticed this, too. From 24-35mm, f/2.8-f/4.0 looks noticeably muddy in the center but cleans up by f/5.6. I'm planning on exchanging the lens for another copy.
Well, mine is as sharp at 35mm as my 35L lens, even at f4. Not kidding!
And it's better than 24-70L. Amazing.

Just to let anyone who is interested in getting Singh-Ray 82mm size filters, I just talked to Bob Singh, and he has told me they are going to produce one batch of 82mm Color combo polarizers and the Vari ND filter in about 6 weeks time. They are taking orders right now, but only those who have pre-ordered will get one, as they are ordering enough parts only to produce how many were pre-ordered.
I.
Thanks for passing this info along. I had sent Singh-Ray an email a few weeks back asking about an 82mm version of the Vari-ND and got a reply to subscribe to their newsletter and to keep an eye on their web site. They said if there was enough interest, they may produce it. Had you not posted this, I'm sure I would have missed the boat. Kinda torqued me a little since I had specifically asked about a 82mm Vari-ND. It would have been nice if they had followed up with me. I also had mentioned I have a LB Polarizer and a slim Vari-ND....so I had a past history of purchases.
In any case, I'm on the pre-order list for the Vari-ND now too. Guess it pays to keep up on the posts in the forums.
I can attest to the awesomeness of this lens. It's Chris', but I was able to play with it (and pose for it, though I may not do so in the future if Chris keeps making comments like the one in image IMG_9844! ) while he was up in Seoul last weekend, and it was just amazing and I want one.

Tyrant, please don't go by my images if you're making that blanket statement haha
I lazily batch processed all those through photoshop with minimal sharpening and none in Lightroom- still trying to work out what settings i'll use for normal conversions in LR.
Hi, love the images! However, I noticed quite a fair bit of vignetting in the photos. Did you add a vignette effect, or it is due to the lens on a fullframe camera (5D)?
p.41 #20 · 'Master' EF 16–35mm f/2.8L II USM Thread
it does vignette quite a bit... not as bad as the mk1, but it is still there.
I didn't ad any in post, but i did turn up the blacks in LR when doing hte conversions, which kinda adds to the effect. Most of these were wide open or close to it, but by 5.6 it's mostly gone.
