Oh wait, didn't your dealer tell you? The Malaysian manufactured version of the Mark III doesn't come with a battery. You'll need to order one separately. Or the Made in Japan model for $500 more. ;-)

You ever actually try to get to Iceland? Man, its a bitch from the U.S.! North to Toronto, take a right at the Exxon station and follow the signs for Iqaluit. Take another right to Greenland (gas up before you go as almost no one is crazy enough to actually live there) and head due east to the Greenland Sea and wait till an ice berg floats by that seems to be headed to Iceland.

My dealer just let me know that it is his understanding that most of the initial shipments today are going to the newspapers, and most dealers are only getting 1-2. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
My dealer confirmed that they have cameras en route. Unfortunately, they don't know how many. I'm at least 10 down the list, so not likely I'll be seeing one soon, but... at least they're shipping...
Holy cow I just put a deposit down on one. I kept telling myself I will just wait until the hype dies. Oh well what is 4400.00 dollars anyway. Kids eat more top romin and dad will take your picture.
Now so I don't fall into the blame canon for all. I really don't care when it comes, when they say it will come or if they have to change the ship date for some reason. It will get here when it gets here.

Same here. When it finally comes I will have forgotten all about this hype of when will it ship or the delays.

"Canon will begin distribution of the EOS-1D Mark III today in the U.S., with the first bodies expected to land on dealer loading docks as early as tomorrow in some U.S. locations, says Chuck Westfall, Director of Media and Customer Relationship at Canon USA. Shipments of the camera are expected to be steady from here on in, says Westfall, though a significant number of pre-orders means it will take some time before supply catches up to demand in the U.S. market."

I'm # 1 at Epperson Photo in Oklahoma City. I don't know what the en-route time might be, but I'm looking forward to getting my III. It would be interesting to analyze the psychology that Canon has employed on this release. Heck, I'm almost 65 years old, a professional, and I'm as excited as a kid at Christmas. That's sort of sick isn't it?

His response was that there lots of rumours on the internet of confirmed release dates.
