Canon has officially released the pricing for the Canon EOS-1D MKIII. This price has been set at $4499.99 and is scheduled to start shipping on May 26th. For all of you who have ordered online with me, please note that the finial sell price will be $4499.99. If you have left a deposit of $500.00 to secure your spot on my waiting list, this will be automatically deducted from the final total once your camera is here and ready to ship out to you.
I will contact you once your name comes up on my list so please be sure to update your contact information so that I may reach you, at any point during the day, to confirm that I may process your card and ship your camera. May 26 that really, really sucks. I'm glad i just got a 5D as a backup, otherwise, i'd really be screwed. I hope others will get cameras before hunt's!!!
I hope THIS price on the LP-E4 is only preliminary and not the actual price they will appear at initially. Although I see the EN-EL4a that supposedly shares architecture with the Canon pack is quite a bit more than the EN-EL4 Nikon pack.
I really really hope they don't delay it to may 26 because I need the camera for a job that day and would love a few days og playing with it before I go live with it

I've been watching amazon for months waiting for it to become available through them. I didn't want to preorder months ago and wanted to wait for the first reviews. Now I'm ready to jump in, so I've been trying to catch amazon when it first opened so that I'd be toward the top of their list.
I noticed that you could preorder starting last night. I ordered it even though it said "arriving June 20th". Well I got this email this morning:

I paid for next day shipping. Who knows if this will change again, but I'm hopeful. By the way, the order page still says June 20th. My guess (hope) is that they have a limited supply coming in so they are leaving the June 20th date so they don't get complaints about backorders. I've seen amazon do this many times before - I've used them for years and never had any complaints.
I am pretty high on the list at one store and they called on Monday. I got excited but as it turned out for nothing, they just confirmed the price $4,499.00 and wanted to know whether it would go ahead with the purchase.... They don't know the date though .

I'd appreciate if you could keep us up to date on your order status. It would be great if they do ship that early!!! btw, ignore the blasting for "date" posts. I don't understand why if someone is not interested in a post, they simply can't ignore it

Vistek is now at $5699.00... I started out thinking I would be paying around $4700 Canadian, then for a while around $5200, now it's at $5700. My feet are slowly but surely getting colder and colder. Another summer of shooting with the 20D may not be so bad after all. I just bought myself a nice new lens instead.

That is still better then Canada. Vistek has the price listed as $239.95.
