From the look of the test images, it may be cheaper just to buy an Leica 35mm Summicron or Elmarit if you want a sharp, smooth focusing manual lens. The Elmarit has the better quality, and is a f2.8 lens. The Leica to EOS adapters are also less problematic than the Nikon or Contax adapters.
The EOS 35mm f1.4 L lens is also supposed to be as good as any 35mm lens, but it will not have that smooth manual focus of the Zeiss or Leica lenses.
Yes all up to 50mb..I do that as that is what I need my lenses to do so the test shots for me have to be at 50mb..will be a bit sharper at natural camera resolution.
I feel now that this lens will be great on a nikon body or soemone may love it on their canon but for what I am needing it for I am selling it and going to look elsewhere...a shame as in terms of actually using this lens...fantastic feel, smooth focus, aperture, etc..you know..a lens that feels good to use!
