Marc,
It looks very good in the corners, but then again, it should at f/8.
However I used the Summicron-R 35mm on the 1Ds and it wasn't very good in the corners. How sharp is the Zeiss at larger apertures?
Marc, would you mind posting a picture of the Chinese adapter you are using? I've seen at least three slightly different variations available on *bay. I need to buy two more and would like to give what you have a try, since my last one was very poor. If you would PM/email with with the seller you used that would even be better
Also, if you are interested, I can post some similar shots with my Zeiss Rollei HFT 35/1.4 on my SLR/c.

Martin, I will try to do some large aperture shots for you tomorrow if I get the chance..both at say F2.8 and f8 to let you compare. I shot ansd poted at F8 as that is how I will use this lens..for slow landscape, exterior work.
Andi, yes very happy with it..and if it really does have resolution in reserve then even better.
Paul, I'll do some shots of the adapter for you tomorrow and email you the details. It is not perfect as there is some very minimal rotation of the lens in the adapter but it is very minimal. Also infinity focus is a little before the barrels end..on the fotodiox it was right at the end which was nice but as the lens rattled around not worth that!
I am going to see if the seller I got mine from has anymore of exactly the same stock but I think I am going to get another chinese dapter from a different source and then see which works best..and am still waiting for steven gandy at camerquest to get back to me..if I can get an adpater to focus at infinity at exactly the right point I will be 100% happy with this lens.
Cinstance, you get a wider angle the closer you go, except it is an IF lens. ie you need to know this when using wides on a 4x5 camera, like Lotus mentioned
Cinstance is right. At close focus the angle of view _decreases_ while the diameter of the image circle increases. Ergo, optical vignetting is reduced at close range. If in addition the exit pupil is pushed away from the sensor (as with most designs at close focus, I don't know the specifics of the ZF 2/35) natural vignetting is reduced as well. Anyway, an object distance of 1 m is not much of a close range for this lens, and vignetting will be pretty much the same as at infinity focus.
paul, here are images of the adapter..I can not see any differences between this one and the other chinese adapters on ebay from the pictures.
I await cameraquest reply and may also try the novoflex adapter once I speak to the shop that sells them about returning them if they do not fit perfectly and give infinity focus where they should..if they are no better than the £7 adapter why spend more ( a lot more!)
and andi..that canon forum is a scary place..thanks for trying to help me out over there!
