If a 30D aint good enough for you buy the 1Dsmk||. Then you dont have to worry about upgrades, because the chances are you won't be able to afford them
The 10D/20D/30D is a price segment. Don't expect any massive land slides here because Canon will have to fit the new camera into the existing price segment. The 40D will pretty much evolve from its line-up of ancestorial cameras. It will not bump to 16 mpixel, it will not go full frame (unless Canon pulls one on everyone else) and it will not have 8 fps or a 45 point AF system.
Please, let this be the last post on this thread. Too much to hope for, i know, but there are literally dozens of threads on this same question. Find them and let this thread quietly die
photoshopping something like that is way too easy. i don't believe anything anymore until it's on the shelves. let's make up some fresh rumors for fun.

OK, here's one for you Jim that I think everyone else has missed...
Canon is in the process of buying Nikon which itself is near gaining a controlling interest in Zeiss. The goal of the new company, to be called Cannik, is to develop a corporate entity capable of fighting back the combining forces of Sony, Panasonic and Yamaha which is merely waiting board approval from Sony. The delay is reportedly due to several of Sony's board members being injured while playing with the Wii but none of the injuries are believed to be life threatening according to Entertainment Tonight so that deal should be completed by the end of April. While Cannik will enter the fray with a clear lead in imaging technology, inside sources say that they will not tolerate the huge lead that Sonpanahaha will have in motorcycles for long. In fact, Autoweek is reporting that a new 22mp superbike will be ready for this season's MotoGP's first event at Losail, Qatar on March 10th which, not surpisingly coincides with PMA.

Now that is a rumor. Is Rossi going to ride the Sonpanahaha this season?
Not sure who is getting the ride, but this rumor is getting even more believable as Speed Week is reporting that Shinya Nakano, recently of the Konica/Minolta team has been chosen to ride the new Cannik machine.
It will be 10d better. Each time it was 10D better cept the old d30 to d60 that was special it was 30d better or was it d30 better mmmm yes let it die Steve
guys, you know what u have done?
u allmost ruined canon with this thread.
i suspect they care about what photo addicts say, want, draem about
do u imagine a bunch of guys well payed READING all this...they must be many, nerve issue free and very, very well payed...
tehre are only 2 possibility, either canon is ruining it's profits for this year paying all those employees or simply just decide not to read, as they did all those years, to save their little proffit.
so, goys, be short, thnik twice and write once and MAYBE they'll give a ...cake on what we want or dream of....
It would also be about time at last to release the EF400 F4L IS USM.
I donīt think it would kill of the DO-version as itīs purpose is a totally other (less weight and so forth).
By the way. The EF400 F4L IS USM is not a all new lens. Canon has produced a protype of it at the same time as the DO -version was released. There is also pictures of it at this address for those who are interested: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0009/00090604canon_400do.asp
The good thing about the EF400 F4L IS USM even though it weighs 1 kg more than the DO -version is that itīs price would be about 2.000 $ less, making it a possible investment for many who otherwise would never have the money to buy a F4 supertelephoto lens.
