Sales reps are as low down the food chain as us. And most wouldn't admit anything even if they did know. They don't old stock sitting around unable to be sold. Car dealers are a classic and will deny a new model is coming, even if we know it's true.
Canon obviously had the 30D as a stop gap. They obviously weren't ready to go to 10MP and no competitor had it at the time. Seeing the competition and serious market erosion I cannot see how they could hold out another 6 months. In fact 30D needs replacing before 1D II. Some say it's only 11 months since 30D was released, but really it's been 2 1/2 years as it's the 20D we should look at, and fundamentally nothing has changed in that time that one would describe as a major change or improvement.

Whayne, if your post does not generate because it is at the start of a new page, rather than reposting simply move to the address line and alter the page number to the next page - eg. change 355 above to 356 and the next page will display.
This is a bug which occurs after threads reach 300 pages.
Does this mean it's Zero Hour for everyone to start "officially" complaining about the capabilities/flaws in the new camera, and to start jumping ship?

I'm still holding out for a 40D but must admit the chances are looking slimmer unfortunately. I would hate to wait until the fall for one......
Well looks like the store I was talking to was wrong on the "pro" version....the new release is out!! I bet the 40D is next...one at a time....can't stand it!
