Because these are rumors at best and more likely are just speculation and fantasizing! They are not real Canon cameras. Don't jump the gun and condemn the company based on non-reality. Further, "weather sealing" is not weather-proof, and is over-rated and is not really necessary for all except a few hardened professionals, and there are other solutions that can be used if you camera does not have "weather sealing".
Wouldn't a Digic III help providing more processing power for: lower noise, higher dynamic range, faster/more accurate focus, plus, higher fps, managing a deeper RAW and JPG buffer?
What is face recognition? Isn't that a new Fuji P&S 40 feature? You're on the wrong camera brand forum!

I wish all the naysayers and hand-wringers and people ready to sell off their systems if Canon doesn't upgrade the 30D would pay attention to that fact. I don't get it. If they're designing a wide angle lens specifically for the 1Ds III, how can they possibly design it to resolve more detail? In the end, doesn't it just come down to lens coating?
I'd say that a 'live view' feature would be more likely on a con/prosumer DSLR than on a high end model. If I'd have gotten a $ for every time I've heard someone ask 'how to turn on the screen' on a DSLR, I could actually afford a 1D :P.
As for the FF, to each their own. I can see why some people would want one. I understand the technological arguments behind it, too. That said, I couldn't care less myself, as I see no immediate benefit. So far, the professionals (amateur myself) I've spoken to seem divided on the subject.
If this can retail for $50, and the file structure of a 30D et al is DOS based, there is no reason Canon can't just include the circuitry/antenna in their bodies and be done with it.
What about blue tooth flash connectivity? Or GPS capability?
$100 cell phones pack more technology than $8000 cameras these days!
I'm not in need of weather sealing, but I can buy a $100 GPS unit than can survive under 6 feet of water for 15 minutes so I don't see why I have to spend $4000 at Canon to get even 1/10th the level of protection.
How about they bring 2 new models and rock the world - a 7Dnw or a 40Dnw - FF and1.6 crop, but networked and weather sealed, 7 to 10 FPS, 10Mp either sensor, with the dust shaker bit.
Price it at $1800 to 2800 (1.6 and FF respectively)

Those two lenses will not happen because of simple rules (and limitations) of optics. Glass with those specs will be huge and extremely expensive because the wider a lens is, the more difficult it is to give it an optically perfect wide light path.Especially if the glass has to cover the full frame projection circle.

Yes a bluetooth flash would definitely be great, but I am not so sure it would have enough range. IIRC it only has about a 10yard range, which would be good in a studio but not out on a basketball court or other setting. A wireless radio transmitter of any kind built into the body would be fantastic, but I am sure they love selling those st-e2's for $200. Come to think of it, those PW guys get a lot of money for what amounts to a simple relay trigger. I've often wondered why ettl wasn't backengineered by those guys, but I guess they make enough money as it is.
I just posted recently on "that other forum" that I heard on a TV show called "Mr. Net" that Canon will release very shortly a successor to the 1D Mrk II, clocked at 10fps.... he couldn't say more and that we'd have to wait and see once the NDAs expire.
Was really hoping for a 1Ds Mrk II upgrade.... oh well... guess it will be later this year.

Once the official announcement comes, this topic will come to an end as a new topic specifically on the new EOS will be created, either by someone or by the moderators themselves.

I can't image that there would be a huge rush of people trying to sell their existing ones, unless of course there is a huge improvement in high ISO performance.
