I don't know if this is my favorite of the year, but I have tried on severaly occasions to capture the softness of these cactus spines before I was satisfied. I took this image with a Sigma 105mm macro and "stacked" the images to gain greater clarity.
I really love macro photography because everything is so colorful and intricate close up. You have all done really well this year. For the coming year I want to do more macro photography than I have this year. A new years resolution I guess. Good work you guys!

I'd love to help support this place and would be willing to buy a book of the best of the best of photos posted in all forums as judged by Fred or designate or group. Not to say that any of my shots would make it, but I'd be glad to donate my shot. I'd wouldn't even care if 2006 wasn't available till december 2007 ... great gift idea.
There's a lot of publishing on demand sites out there...doesn't have to be a fancy book, a lot of the shots speak for themself.
Just thought I'd toss that out there before the threads go into the archives...or maybe for next year for a print in the year after.
Any case, great shots folks. I enjoyed looking at em ... here's to many more this year!
