One of my favorate mantis models .... she let me get this one between 2 and 3 x (105 -> all tubes -> 2x TC -> camera -> me). Lighting assistance: MT-24. Background: Garage.
It was a toss up between this shot and the male paper wasp. Course, last year I only had one shot I realy realy liked, this year I had two ... let's hope I'm doubeling so next year I can have four!
I'm new here so be gentle. Amazing images in this thread...I don't think I'll ever be able to match some of them. I like Macro a lot, but am not too experienced in it. Here's my favorite of 2006:
A young variety of tree frog (ID?)...the picture belies his size, he was about as big as the distance between two knuckles.
As already said itīs difficult to choose just a one shot. I chose this one as itīs the first time when maiting of Aeshna mixtas was photographed here in Finland. So, itīs quite a special shot in that way...
This is not the most colorful or beautiful macro I got this year but the luck of catching a jumper who was jumping sticks out in my mind as being one of my favorites.
