The images here are amazing... Tom Hicks - WOW... love that shot.
I selected this image for the colors. My N&W "best of" post is another spider that's technically much better, but this is a different look. I like how the peaceful coloring is in blatant contrast to the kill that is in progress
Congrats to all who posted, some great imagery here. Reminds me why I love the spring and summer so much. The good weather just can't come quick enough!
Wow. Having been here for a while, I can say it's amazing how much this board has evolved over the last few years! Almost all of these are outstanding macro images--and none are "ho-hum". Congratulations, FM Macro shooters!
That said, I guess I'll post my favorite of the year ('though the year ain't done yet). I know flowers get short shrift compared to bugs, but I'll keep fighting the good fight:
105 Micro-Nikkor at work again. Because I've been accused of "digitally alterring" this image, I'll state for the record that nothing was done beyound a little "optization" of the image for color and contrast--and cropping full-width to a 4X5 aspect ratio.
Fantastic photos, makes me feel a bit out of place around here.
Here is a pic I took earlier today. I have much better pics but I like this because it is my first atempt at macro photography in a fish tank. I have only owned an SLR for a few months and that is my excuse!!
Really great pics, everyone ;-)
I'm relatively new to this forum, and it is difficult to choose my best macro pic.
But i took this interesting guy inside a rose several months ago.
I'm glad you like the pic, I took it with my oly e330 camera on a tripod, with both a Sigma 150mm macro lens and olympus ec 14 teleconverter attached. exif: Aperture f9.0; focal length 212mm; iso 100; shutter speed 1/160.
