I have a 62mm B&W cut filter. I read somewhere last week that the glass would fit in a 60mm filter. I can easily get the glass out of my 60" Leica filter, but I can't figure out how to get the cut filter out of the B&W frame. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Cindy
nice photos. Nice subtle pastel lighting. But that blue stuff at the top of the pictures, I didn't think you had that in Old Blighty?
As for the 5D stuff, I am selling the 5D , an old Zeiss Flektogon 20mm (great condition, but needs lubrication), Leica Summicron 50 (current version), Leica Summilux 80, Elmarit 135 (newest one), Elmarit 180 (newest non-Apo one), and my 17-40L. I have decided on prices for some items but not all. PM me if you see anything interesting. As far as prices, I aim for them to be fair for both sides, but not some kind of superbargain. I can't afford that All lenses are in very good to great shape, some near perfect.
Edit: Oops, nearly forgot: 3 Extreme III cards (I might keep one), Camdapter+handstrap, Brightscreen focusing screen, Ee-S focusing screen, CF card wallet (more like a tank!), extra battery, a handful of Leica-R-to-EOS adapters, and so on... bits and pieces which won't fit the M8.

Brainiac,
thanks for the comparison.
Lastweekend I did some comparisons between a d200 a my 5d and found the the d200 images needed much less post processing (IMO better exposure metering, auto contrast seems to work well too, nice colors).
Even with the slightly lower detail compared to the 5d the d200 would seem a really nice camera for someone shooting jpgs all the time.
Have to say so that I did shoot outside scenes and not in artificial light.
Regarding the M8 vs 5d I just HOPE that the M8-overall image quality when processed in raw and looking on the whole image (not just center) will lead to different results.
I will have to run my own tests too (when I finally get my M8) since everybody finds something different. I like the DMR-IQ better than the 5d, now people say the M8 is as good as the DMR, now other people say the 5d-IQ is better than the M8, ...many say 5d draws more medium format like than a d200 (which I personally can not see), .....

I did get to do another M8/5D comparison before I came away to here
Nice job. I think the method used is the right way and the results are consistent with what I would have expected. This is not to say that other aspects of th M8 performance not effectively addressed in your test might be superior, but the clearly 5D came out on top in this test.
Interesting test Richard and it seems fair as far as it goes. For resolution the 5D has a small but not insignificant advantage undoubtedly important for some subjects. What worries me more with the M8 is your finding of persistent red fringing on high contrast edges. Curiously I haven't seen this mentioned much by M8 owners who post here. Neither have I noticed the phenomena with my DMR. Could this be the next bug (or unwanted side-effect) Leica will have to deal with?
Anyways, thanks for the effort and sensible interpretation.

Might well be due to excessive IR sensitivity spilling into red channel, so IR filter may fix it. Same goes, possibly, for the ZM21 ghost flare spots. I didn't have time to experiment. I believe Guy has already mentioned that IR filtration can fix a multitude of problems.

Cindy:
The locking ring is on the rear of the filter with the F-Pro filters. I used a rubber stopper to remove the locking ring.

I know you guys are not too interested, but just in case anyone wants to see it, it's here: http://cyberphotographer.com/m8v5d
Why would anyone not be interested? I have to say that I found it very much improved from your last comparison test where you took a shot of a scene with one camera and then came back some time later with the other camera to shoot your comparison photo in different lighting, framing, exposure, etc... May I point out that though having only used the M8 for a few weeks now, I've yet to come across a file from the M8 that looks like the one used in your comparison at 100% (or from my 1DS). This using the same 21 ZM lens as well. Perhaps the interpolation had something to do with it? The fact that different interpolation was done does introduce a variable of uncertainty in your findings and it may have been better to keep that and the sharpening consistent between both cameras. I've found that the M8 files do sharpen very nicely as do Canon files.
Also, I always shoot Raw so it would be interesting to see whether you would come to the same findings if shot in Raw. But as you stated you don't have time to worry about batch Raw conversion but would rather interpolate files into 40 megapixel images instead . If you don't mind could you post the uninterpolated images for reference? That would be the end product for me as I do not interpolate any of my images (perhaps the case for many others as well) and so the best output IMHO for a comparison would be 100% uninterpolated files that have been postprocess exactly the same.
