Just curious... who among us would consider using their photos from this thread to make a coffee table book something like Paul Bowen's Air to Air series that could be sold and the profits would be donated to something like the Shawn Hannity Freedom Fund for the children of the fallen soldiers in Iraq?
I’d be happy to contribute my (pathetic) photos. It’s a very good idea and for a very good cause, of course.
Perhaps pick a more neutral group for receiving the proceeds? Everyone would support something for the families of Iraq war veterans. But Shawn Hannity is very polarizing. My guess is that half the people here love him and half hate him. Is there a similarly focused charity not associated with any political figures? It seems that an Iraq veterans group would be perfect for this sort of thing.
Can such an endeavor actually raise enough money to be worth the effort (versus our just donating cash)? I have no idea. If it could that would be really super.
That's a good point. While I have no beef with Hannity's perspective, I don't like how he just shouts opponents down instead of making salient arguments, it makes him look like an idiot and does nothing to further the conservative cause. Rush is much maligned, and he definitely has a flamboyance that turns people off, but he's educated, knows his facts and would be tough to one up in a rational debate of issues. His opponents end up shouting and looking like idiots because they can't logically defend their positions. At any rate, obviously we all would like to help. The glitsch I anticipate is the huge up front graphics and publishing costs.
I got to spend some time with Col. Bud Anderson, what a gentleman! He flies "Old Crow" every year at AirVenture and does a beautiful job. What a treat for him, and the crowd.
I spent several hours in different positions shooting from this beautiful aircraft. The crew flies it impeccably. What an incredible platform to shoot from, aside from the historical significance.
A father takes a moment with The Lord before his son launches in the Mustang....something got in my eye when I saw this scene so it was hard to capture.
