I don't think we can trust anything Whayne Padden (Pixel Perfect) says. When he has been caught saying nonsense with a straight face, he says "I was just joking". He hasn't said anything about the provenance. Originally he said it was a document from Canon, then when he was called on the lack of quality of the language in it, he changed his tune and said it was his "summary". However, his "summary" is still written in his idea of marketeer-speak.

Such a camera would be incredible. Best of all it will be cheaper than 5D although expect 5D price cut. MSRP $2599. Now don't worry that it seems like this would be a better camera than 1 series, as this is the launch pad for a new Canon era and much will find it's way into the all new 1 series whenever it's released.
Well, from what i heard (from a person who knows a person) -it'll actually be a fixed-lens camera, with a max ap. of F8, ISO's 100-400 (boost to 800), 3 focus points, and 32mb of built-in memory.
Oh, and the sensor will be a XVGA CCD with bad banding. Too bad, looks like the D80 will beat out Canon's offerings this time around!

depends on what one is improving: DO is still in its infancy and is an improvement in size and weight, although some would argue that there's more to be done in IQ. IS is a quickly evolving technology - compare the IS of the 70-200 and the 70-300 e.g.
canon could use an ef-s 30/1.4.
I was referring more to resolution. Its all well and good people clamouring for more and more resolution but can anybody see any evidence of new technologies that will keep lenses running alongside the sensors instead of falling behind. The 1Ds2 sensor is notorious for showing up lens flaws and recent Canon and Nikon releases show no signs of any quantum leap in optical quality (if any). I just don't see Canon going to a new mount unless there is a severe technical reason to do so.

Hoax.
What a rude person. How can we trust anything you have said. Me thinks he doth protesth too loudly.
You are still upset that I said Canon have not innovated for several years and had nothing to offer and despite my signature believed me. That sadly is a reaction of a fanboy and I don't like fanboys and I like upsetting them.
Bleh, if this "document" is real, I was hoping the 3D would be a full-frame, 16MP, 5D-sized camera, with weather sealing, and more focus points, launched a few weeks before the 22MP 1Ds3. Time for me to keep dreaming.

It's still a hoax. I'm simply directing people taken in by your hoax to the fact that it is a hoax, whether they are fanboys or just very hopeful. A number of good people have been taken in by your hoax. You can be superior and look down your nose at them and call them "fanboys" if you like. Most are simply people with a lot of admiration for Canon, well pleased with their equipment, and eager for future developments. You got caught out, and now you want to attempt to insult the messenger with the epithet "fanboy" too. ok.
It's the wrong time in the cycle for Canon to jigger the middle of the range. The 5D, the 1DIIn, and the 30D have all come out within twelve months. That is the middle of the range. Canon will revamp the top of the range and the bottom of the range.
There are people who have much the same equipment as you have in your signature who do make statements like you did in the other hoax about a lack of innovation and who do sell their equipment. Thus I took you at your word and simply advised you to put your money where your mouth was by selling your equipment. I think you are upset that I called your bluff. That hoax alerted me to look at this hoax more closely. I'm not upset. After all, it is your reputation and word at stake, not mine. The more you hoax, the less you get listened to.

Not that I give anything for a forum buss or rumor but I think Ill have to laugh my ass of he ends up being right
Guys... Pixel Perfect is talking out of his backside - I can't believe you're dumb enough to be suckered in by this nonsense! :-)
He claims to have access to a document which must either reside on his hard disk, or is available via a URL, which he has reproduced (via copy and paste) here. Yet bizarrely he is unable to provide this document in it's entirety. Why would that be? Just maybe it doesn't exist!
