Unfortunately B&H don't stock the flight case but they can supply them made to order for the Pentax 1200mm f8 ED-IF A lens - which, I'm sure you all know, are two a penny these days.
someone asked farther back who had these lenses they are rumored as follows: 2 at SI, 1 or 2 with the sultan of Bruni, CPS has 3 to 5 world wide depending on who you ask, I have heard that the AP, the LA times, and the NY times have one each, a dentist from the US bought the first one. other than that I don't know I do know that there are more than 10 in existance (best guess is somewhere between 15 and 50 exist in the world). I have also heard a rumor that atleast one has been distroyed by accedents.
the first element on this lens is the protective filter for the lens and can be replaced "easily", if you want to use filters you use 48mm drop-ins so actually they are pretty cheap. anything else i can clear up?
BTW buying this lens and renting it out to photogs could make a lot of money for you as there is no way to rent this lens unless you are CPS and even then you need to be a big gun for them to let this out of the warehouse. just a thought.

Pretty sad, my wife has me figured out pretty well. She said something to the effect "Well, since there is no way on earth you'll be buying that lens, I suppose you are planning to spring another purchase on me that will look reasonable in comparison."
Unfortunately this thread must be locked because it has crashed under the large volume of bumps from people who have no interest (or ability) to complete this purchase.
