Hand holding the 1200 5.6? Is this doable? I'm going to an Airshow and I don't want to lug my Velbon tripod, the one that came free with my video camera, it's so heavy.

Unfortunately --because the Net is so much more accessible these days (Netiquette is a forgotten word) you are going to get a lot more teen and pre-teen youngsters posting any sort of garbage --but since you've been a member here quite a long time you should be able to ignore rubbish posts.

one of my traumatic moments in a photo shop:
Customer: (holding a canon DSLR) "why can't one take pictures looking at the LCD?"
Salesman: "I don't know, would actually be pretty handy, wouldn't it....?"
Aahh!!! One of them needs a 'my first sony'-digicam and the other should be fired!
Maybe we should form 2 new Canon Forums - one forum dedicated to (1) Busy Pros and dedicated amateurs who don't want to filter through the senseless threads and (2) the other forum dedicated to people with no clue who can write as many senseless mumbo jumbo as they want :-) :-) :-).
I think this will provide some relief for us all, since the Canon Forum is so busy. It should allow people to focus their surfing of the boards a bit more effectively, and to more efficiently find information on the items or issues they are interested in. ;-p

I would like to thank you for the compliment about my photography. I don't consider myself in the same league as Mark, but I appreciate the thought. As far as the attitude goes, you don't know me at all and have no idea about my attitude, but I will take your compliment as a photographer even though the rest of your reply is unfounded. Thanks!!! If you actually got to know me, you would love me like everyone else does.
