Very entertaining but I'm afraid some missed the point. You can tell the ones that are wrapped too tight. They are the same ones I see losing it in other threads.
ive got leica glass for my car but does anyone know where to get some for my sunglasses? also i was going to buy a hasselblad 503 cw but the af didnt work and the card slot was huge! the assistant says it was a "film" card but i havent seen these. also why are my pics crap? i think i have a problem with my 100L as well. it says "canon" where the glass should be and its all blak. the pictures are all black too. can you help?

Looking at your sig, Andrew I would:
If you are single, but it under the "Own" line of lenses.
If you are married, put it under the "Own'd" line of lenses.
If you are divorced, you will need a third line "MIA".
I read Melor's post about four times, then, I realize that there was something wrong with it. Then, I read all the other posts...and got pretty sure it was a prank. Then, I had to think, "what would a rail, against a rant, sound like, if the rail was pretending the rant was serious, but, the rail itself was a parody of a rail-against-a-rant?"

Aw heck, going for the longest is so passé....I'm shooting for the "Most Pretentious Sig" award. You know, the ones along the lines of "Some bodies and expensive glass".
Lessee....how about "My brain and a photon trap".... Sorry if that one's taken!

Sorry, but I have been trying 'til my head hurts but cannot for the life of me imagine how anybody could have thought the original post was meant to be serious. Extraordinary.
And yes I have a problem with people spending thousands of $$ on gear and don't find the shutter button....
one of my traumatic moments in a photo shop:
Customer: (holding a canon DSLR) "why can't one take pictures looking at the LCD?"
Salesman: "I don't know, would actually be pretty handy, wouldn't it....?"
Aahh!!! One of them needs a 'my first sony'-digicam and the other should be fired!
Well technically no, but i've encountered that situation at work (i work in a camera store) - except the 1DsMk2 was a 1DMk2 instead, and she bought it because she thought she'd look like a professional (although she did ask where the full auto mode was).
AS for the customer/salesman - i get that all the time with DSLRs... I have learned to ignore them
I thought your post was well-done, mostly. Then again I'm not sure if I should write this.
You might ignore it because you don't know my full name. I guess that is your decision though. I'm not sure your reasoning behind this. Why can't you respect someone's wishes to be known only by their first name? I honestly don't want my last name posted all over the internet. If you'd think for a bit, you'd find that some people have legitimate reasons

It is funny, I was reading consumer reviews of the 10d and 300d and some yahoo actually posted a rant in the "CONS" section using phrases like "YOU CAN"T USE THE LCD TO TAKE PICTURES, and "why wouldn't this fact be advertised so people would understand the camera's serious limitations" and "DON'T BUY THIS CAMERA, IT IS SERIOUSLY FLAWED". , some people ARE that ignorant!
