to my eyes, A has more "punch" and seems a bit more saturated and I prefer it over B

"A" looks a bit better to me. I like the warmer colors in "A" (the bricks) show it better.

both very soft....and on my monitor the air-conditioner in the upper left corner appears to be projecting out of the wall. Other than that they appear to be photos of identical buildings. How often do ya see that

Since you asked....both 300D, and again playing with the kit versus my 30 year old 5 dollar Yashica 50mm DSB 1.9.

Winner by a far margin seems to be the kit.

There seems to be a bit more detail in B. Looking at the piece of wood with the nail in it on the far right side of the sign is a bit lighter and shows a little more detail. I would prefer B as it may have a little less contrast but better shadow detail.

B definitely has better contrast and appears slighly sharper. OTOH, color is very subjective--there is a slight difference; A is warmer/has more yellow. B is my pick.

B seems to have more detail to my eyes.

I also tried the 'magic eye' trick of trying to merge the two - now I've got a headache

B appears to have better contrast to me and finer detail. Most notable area is the thingy sticking out of the wall right above the L in pickle and the wire.
