Seems they have no intention of providing support for the A7R6 Compressed RAW or Compressed HQ - which appear to be the 12bit files.
Ah well it was fun while it lasted.
Where is this coming from; is it just that nothing has been done yet?
I'd be more inclined to give up on Sony, but for now may have to shoot 15FPS lossless.
Capture One also doesn't support them yet, despite typically having solid Sony support. The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Adobe paid Sony for months of exclusivity.

So initially I raised a bug with them because PL10 will load the files but does not render them properly - this is different to the usual behaviour where it shows a message saying the format is unsupported.
Their initial response was that it works fine with the Compressed RAW files they have so I send samples for them to test and they confirmed it does not work properly with them.
They also acknowledged they are having trouble with processing the HDR and NR image sets - presumably also taken with continuous shooting modes.
I then found that if you shoot Single Shot Compressed RAW PL10 can process them just fine and it will also process Compressed HQ files just fine
So their whole spiel about the Compressed RAW and Compressed HQ not being real RAW which is why their fancy denoise algorithm can't work on them is utter nonsense - they are happily processing Compressed RAW from my A1ii and A9iii and A7R6 files taken in Single Shot mode and from what I can tell any of the Compressed HQ files - including those shot in continuous shooting mode.
So it seems that it is just the 12bit files they are unable to process correctly but they seem to have backed away from acknowledging it is a bug which they are aiming to fix - it's not even clear if the are capable of fixing it.
And as for 15fps, that's not an issue - there is no problem shooting at 30fps with lossless compressed RAW or compressed HQ.
The workaround is to use Adobe RAW converter to convert to dng files
If, as DxO claim these compressed RAW files aren't proper RAW files then why is it they are able to process the Compress HQ files and Compressed RAW files taken with Single Shot.
Last time I looked there weren't any viable alternatives to Sony but at least two or three alternatives to DxO.

My understanding, and I hope I am wrong here, is that Sony, Canon and Nikon do not publish their RAW file specifications so the only way these software companies can do it is by reverse engineering the file specifications.
One way to fix that is for their current user base to threaten to all switch to Fuji or OM Systems.

Thanks. I also question why 12-bit files cannot be processed, but Sony will probably be using that lossy format for future cameras as well, so cannot just ignore it. Adobe is definitely not viable for me as a mainstream ARW converter.
From the manual it looks like ES speeds are 10/15/20/30. I expect that 15FPS will yield about 4 seconds if the burst of 60 frames is correct. I have to do some testing, but the throughput needs to be reasonable.

If DxO cant be assed to update their software, then just use lightroom?

I refuse to use LR due to the db and I don't care much for the ACR and NR even in PS.
Worst case I use the lossless ARW at a slower rate and reduce the usage of Sony and increase Canon.
The situation is still better than the a7RV, but I probably should not have pre-ordered the VI.
It's not like a first marriage that didn't work out or a money pit of a house on the renovation. It's only a $5K camera setup.
