No, the subject line is not a typo.
Just returned from a 10 day trip with Marc Adamus. The trip was supposed to be heli-centric in the Bella Coola area in Canada. However the weather forecast was turning uglier by the day with a real possibility of us spending many days in a tiny hotel in the middle of nowhere. As he is prone to do, Marc did whatever is necessary to get the shot... and moved the trip from Canada to Alaska at the last moment, helis and all --- hence the subject line. Not sure there is another tour leader out there that has the logistics needed to pull off this switcheroo, but he did it in just a few hours.
Had a ton of fun and got many great images that I will post over the coming weeks. Wanted to start off with what was, without a doubt, the highlight of the trip - a drone shot over Horn Spire, in the middle the Juneau Ice field.
This is spectacular! The lighting is perfect and the clouds add lots of drama. What kind of drone were you using? Joining the sentiment of the others here in looking forward to seeing more.

This was with a M3P, wide angle pano stitched with autopanogiga (which these days is free and does almost everything PTgui does). I wish I had more battery left by the time I got in position. I only had time for a couple of shots before I needed to go home, and even then I landed with sub 2% battery. The best version of this shot is from slightly to the left where you could see more than the spine of Horn Spire but just the day before I had almost crashed the drone (RTH with sub 1% remaining) and was not inclined to push too hard again.
Spectacular set, Boyan. My favorite is the cloudfall #3. Very impressive how Mark was able to turn on a dime at the last minute and switch the shoot due to weather.
Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. It will be slow going to get to the rest of the images I have, but I hope to drop them in a few batches over the next month or so.
What a great save from what could have been just a waste of $$ & time. You got some really dramatic images from that. Looking forward to what else is coming.
