Not trying to be harsh but I did 1 'search" just to make sure the "Search engine" was working and there were so many that Fred message requested me to "narrow my search"....

The primary purpose of this private website is to share photographs and discuss photography. It is not a photography buy and sell site, especially for new members that only sign up for that reason and have no credible feedback here as either a seller or buyer.

Thanks Dan. That's a good perspective, but another difficulty is the fact that you're restricted to posting once every X amount of minutes (feels like ~10?). Either way, I'll get there eventually, but it would be nice to have an easier route to verification.
It took me like half an afternoon to get to 25. Then I bought a lens.

Yes. In the fact that only people on the board can message them. You cut off a huge number of buyers. You can just pay tonsell something here, but who is going to pay to potentially buy something?

I was ignorant about the time limit....didn't know there was one....see even an olde fart of a FM'r learns something new in 2026!

I believe Fred put the "restrictions" in place because FM had become a huge place for fraud of EVERY type.
He was trying to lessen the impact of buyers getting scammed.
Fred was making it harder for sellers/buyers to do that.
