The number of obviously fake / fraudulent B&S threads rose dramatically, as FM membership increased. Also, the number of non-obvious B&S frauds rose significantly, as witnessed by the number of threads posted by members who were caught in the traps of fake members and valid member accounts that were hijacked. The B&S forum is not 'safe' (nowhere is), but it's been pretty reliable in recent years.
Also, the relatively low cost of doing business here (i.e. no cut for FM) does not mean that sellers get more for their gear here, than on sites that take a big slice off the top. Most FM buyers know about these differences, and rightly expect to see lower selling prices here, that are commensurate with the difference in fees.

I'm sorry, im a new member and I strictly came here based off many recommendations of using Fred Miranda's marketplace from Facebook groups that range from Fuji to Canon. I decided to check it out and saw that there's a marketplace for other gear (not just camera stuff) as well. But after seeing this comment I feel like I'm being attacked and pretty much given the vibe that if I'm not here to talk about camera stuff, I'm not welcome here. Unless the moderator or owner of the site specifically states this as a rule, I think it's a little extreme to think that way. But hey, I'm not here to change your mind or opinion, as you're entitled to it. Just saying that some of us are genuinely just looking to sell stuff without being labeled as a scammer all because we aren't posting a bunch of photography related stuff.
