The number of obviously fake / fraudulent B&S threads rose dramatically, as FM membership increased. Also, the number of non-obvious B&S frauds rose significantly, as witnessed by the number of threads posted by members who were caught in the traps of fake members and valid member accounts that were hijacked. The B&S forum is not 'safe' (nowhere is), but it's been pretty reliable in recent years.
Also, the relatively low cost of doing business here (i.e. no cut for FM) does not mean that sellers get more for their gear here, than on sites that take a big slice off the top. Most FM buyers know about these differences, and rightly expect to see lower selling prices here, that are commensurate with the difference in fees.
