Anyone has any experience with the new AI masks in DXO Photolab 9?
Yes, they seem to work quite well though some people on Windows have had issues cause by GPU drivers.
There was a regression introduced by Apple in Tahoe 26.1 that broke the subject AI in PhotoLab9, and also some other software. DXO have a fix with PhotoLab 9.2.1 that bypasses the problem while we wait for Apple to fix.
There is a free trial period for PhotoLab that runs for 30 days so it’s worth downloading and giving the AI masks a run on some of your images to see if it meets requirements.

As far as I know, if you bought the yearly 20gb plan....they will just charge you for the next year when it's time. You should be grandfathered into that plan. They are not offering it anymore for new customers though.
I looked in my account, and it's set to auto renew in December, for $120.
If you switch to another plan, no matter what a great deal it is, you'll be stuck possibly paying full price for that plan next year or be dealing with figuring out some way to get a deal every year to avoid the higher price.
In my mind it's not worth the effort to save a few bucks now, and then having to deal with not having the 20gb plan anymore and having to deal with trying to avoid the higher cost of that new plan....Show more →
Thanks Tim for this message. After pondering this a bit, I decided to do this:
1. The absolutely lowest price for the 1TB plan found was under $100 (Newegg), but because there seem to be some regional restrictions, I decided to buy the 1 TB plan from Germany for €89 (≈ US $103).
2. Then I subscribed to the store’s newsletter, which gave me a 10€ discount for the next purchase, and I bought another 1 TB plan for €79 (≈ US $91.60).
3. I have to wait until next April for my current 20 Gb plan to expire. When the plan is about to end, I’ll cancel it, which should give me the additional 3 months for free (this is how Adobe works, or at least is known to work, to keep their customers).
4. After additional 3 months have passed by, I will activate the first 1 TB plan, which should work because these purchases reportedly have a one-year activation window.
5. After activating the first one, I’ll stack the second 1 TB plan onto the same subscription, giving me the second year. This should work because it’s the same product.
If I calculated correctly, this plan should keep my subscription active until July 2028. So, for the next 32 months of subscription I'm paying €168 (≈ US $195), which comes to about US $6/month. If I had waited for my current 20 Gb plan to end, I would have gotten 12 months for €147 (≈ US $171), that's the yearly renewal price for me (=what the creative cloud shows me).
I believe my next 32 months are absolutely the lowest price one can get. The downside is that then I'm on the 1TB Plan (to which Adobe is pushing everyone), but I've got about two years buffer to hunt for the next sale. We cannot of course know how much Adobe is trying to increase the average price, but I'm bullish and I believe there will always be some ways to get things under the list price (Adobe will have to compere for its customers).
So yeah, this is my ultimate cheap-ass strategy. I can definitely see that for most people it's just too cumbersome, but there's always those who want buy everything with sale prices and never use the listed prices. You should see my efforts when buying toilet paper...

Hi Kalainen, which German site are you buying from? On Amazon.de, I see this plan priced €108.

You are definitely hard core.
Things must be different where you are, Adobe isn't pushing people who took the pay yearly 20gb plan before they removed it, at least in the US. If you wanted to keep the 20GB plan, you had to switch to yearly payment last year (can't remember the cutoff date.). And until they change it again, if you took that plan back then, you were grandfathered in at that price. At least here in the US. They removed the 20 GB option after that. But I took that plan and next month I'll be paying for the next years worth of subscription, which works out to $10 a month.

To be honest, that's just my assumption — that by discontinuing the 20 GB plan (which was the cheapest option), Adobe is slowly trying to move the userbase to the 1 TB plan, which is more expensive (a larger service pack). The 20 GB plan userbase will fade out through natural attrition (not in a literal sense), making the 1 TB plan the cheapest available option — and Adobe will have gradually raised its prices.
However, I do want to say that I have nothing against Adobe, and I don’t share the common Adobe-rage you see online (Adobe probably need to figure out how to sell more because all the AI investments). On the contrary, I think users actually get good value for their money, at least if you buy the subscription on sale. While working out my cheap-ass strategy, I was laughing at myself because it’s so ridiculous that I just want to see if it really works — saving a few bucks here and there isn’t that important really.

I suspect they will leave the grandfathered 20gb plan alone for a few years now. I mean they removed it last year (or early this year), and pushed those who were on it to the pay yearly (which is fine...I don't care). I assume they'll just let attrition take care of it, like you say.
So people who don't have that plan....are inherently pushed to the only plans that are available, and I believe the 1tb plan is the cheapest. But those who got or switched to the pay yearly 20gb plan should be set for a while, unless they cancel that plan, then there is no way to get it back.
In any case, not fauting you for saving a bit more money. But I'm willing to ride out the 20gb plan for as long as it exists and it's cheaper than any of the other plans.
I am on the 20gb yearly grandfathered plan and not planning to switch to 1TB plan regardless of their yearly sales. I don't care about Adobe's cloud storage and mostly use LrC. I don't mind paying $10/month but I just hate the idea of being on Adobe subscription forever.

I see that I'm still on the 20gb yearly Photography plan. Back in July the monthly cost (before tax) jumped from $9.99 to $14.99. That's a 50% increase.
Are some people still paying $9.99/month for the 20gb Photography plan?
AFAIK you had to switch to pay yearly to keep the 9.99. I think the monthly plan went to 14.99. And they removed the 20gb plan all together soon after.
From the Adobe site.
Starting January 15, 2025, the price of the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan with 20GB storage will increase in all countries.
Annual billed monthly: Increase of US$5, from US$9.99 to US$14.99 per month
Annual prepaid: No increase, the price will remain US$119.88 per year
*The exact price will vary by currency and country.

Sad that I missed that opportunity. And, as it is, I'm paying for a bundle of services that I don't want and don't use. Adobe makes some great apps, but their business model seems exploitative. Essentially "buy these 17 items that you don't need, or else you can't have those 2 items that you do need."

I am still paying $9.99/month for 20GB Photography plan (just double checked my account), I never switched to annual and did not get that email that others did.
