By being the only chick in the nest there's no competition, so that lonely chick gets fed very well. This chick was born late but by being the only chick in the nest it has grown quite rapidly. Here's a few shots of the feedings over a couple day period.

Appreciate it Karl, thank you. The nest I've been shooting at is pretty special in that it is eye level and not far off shore and you're shooting to the West, so it's a nice morning shoot.
And well fed is right, those must be high society Osprey, that kid is being raised on caviar! I just hope they got the wine pairing right...

Thanks Eric, I thought the same thing, eating pretty high on the hog. Fun to watch, that was a Pink Salmon that was brought in for the chick to feed on.
