I saw on YT that you can sand down the dials to simulate that "brassing" that old film cameras would get with extensive use. I don't think it works on the body.
They do it in the electric guitar world and call it "relic-ing". It simulates a "road worn" effect.
You can buy a brand new custom shop Fender guitar that looks like it's had the be-jesus beaten out of it.
Maybe Nikon should work on that.
Personally, I wouldn't but I thought throw that out there for y'all.

I don’t really have an issue with the grips, especially on the black Zf, which I think looks better, but it’s largely why I eventually sold my Zf. Just too heavy for what it is. (I use a Z6 III for my main body). I did pick up a Zfc for that retro itch (which I like mostly for all the dials), and it’s really the form factor needed. I do use a grip with it, but I have the black Zfc and I think it looks fine with the grip.
I posted this in another thread, but this feels like a better fit here.
I have always liked the green and silver combination, so when I saw the Nikon Zf Silver 'Moss Green', it immediately clicked for me. I mostly adapt lenses to the Zf, and since I have a few Safari M lenses along with plenty of black and silver ones, I think they pair really well with it.
Here are a few shots showing some of my lenses mounted on the camera:
