No I am just stating...the obvious. Leica has overpriced themselves for the moment IMHO. This new lower Hasselblad pricing, with more for less, must have some other marketing managers on edge. Even the 907X/100C price has been lowered to $7400.
All camera manufacturers are competing for our money, don't kid yourself.
Now the X2DII can be used in street photography just like I would use my M11(M), but with AF-C follow focus and a simplified menu system unlike the Fuji GFX system menu, but not unlike the M11/SL3/Q3 menu systems (I own all 3 Leica systems in multiples).
even if Leica is objectively overpriced (and I'm not sure how anyone can assert that given that some people, me included, are okay with Leica's pricing), it's still an apples to oranges situation comparing Leica to Hasselblad. If you want medium format and don't mind the Hasselblad lenses which are mostly more expensive than Leica lenses, go for it. If you don't mind 60mp resolution and want the size advantage not to mention Leica shooting experience that Leica affords, then go for that. But to suggest pricing is what will cause people to choose Hassleblad over Leica is a suggestion I disagree with.

I think you are right- Hasselblad and Leica are 100% in competition for dollars from us-
Some may jump at the lower price point and advatages of the Medium format system vs the Leica M but who knows. A 10K price point for a camera is oft putting to me at current and not sure I would buy another Leica body at that price point. Even though I can afford it-

The pricing vs Leica is spot on. Leica costs more for less. Less weight/megapixels/size/features. If the new X2D was more expensive than the Leica, Leica would have to put their prices up!

By that logic, everything is competing for our money - not just cameras. The point being that most folks - and certainly specialists and professionals - would not be cross shopping a MF Hasselblad with a Leica Rangefinder camera. Wealthy casual uses might be - at least until they figure out what really works for them.
It is certainly a great thing though that Hasselblad has become more price competitive with their bodies. Now, maybe they can bring their lens prices down as well (which is what make their system prices non competitive as a whole). Like Leica though, price may not be a major issue with Hasselblad as they do have the pedigree AND also offer unique features that some professionals in particular might require (such as leaf shutter lenses).
The Fuji menu system is atrocious imo! I have my GFX set up (particularly the quick access menu) so that I rarely have to deal with it!
While I have not had a chance to watch all of the reviews, AF-C fast focus tracking did not seem to work that well according to the Verge review - and LiDAR seemed half-baked (missing occasionally as well as being of no use with focusing on a person's eye for instance). That last point in particular would be of great importance to many if true. I will check out the other reviews to see if they contradict this finding.

How many of you travel with a medium-format camera? i did once with a fuji 100s, loved the images a lot, but hated the weight, so I ended up getting the Sony a7cr and the two new small zooms from Sony, and the 35mm 1.4 became the perfect travel kit for me. I might even add the new Godox small flash this time. i do have the X2D, but can't imagine taking it on a trip!

IBIS improvements may be legit, not 10 stops legit, but valuable nonetheless. This reviewer also claims the LiDar implementation is different/unrelated to DJI’s according to Hasselblad’s reps.
I had to check out of a lot of these other reviews though. One guy was like “I didn’t understand the desire for a joystick but now it’s one of my most used buttons!” It’s like have you never used any other camera before?

The X2D with the 38mm is my go everywhere kit and with the X2Dii it will even be lighter: 840g + 350g = 1,190g. Very manageable IMHO.

So has anyone seen a definitive demonstration of Manual with Auto ISO on the II?

Done it many times, but usually for purpose-built reasons. It's not my "walk-around-town" kit, that's what the ZF + Voigts are for.
The X2D isn't bulky or heavy by any personal metric of mine, and the V lenses are suitably small for traveling.
The 100S isn't large itself either (and is crazy light), but the GF lenses are what make it not as fun to carry. Much more doable with a small adapted MF lens, for instance.

I spent three weeks in Korea and three in Japan with the X2D. I purchased an A7CR for travel, but so far, just use it to copy negatives and slides. The XCD 38mm lens is high quality and relatively compact. I also took the 25mm to Japan, but I think from now on I’ll only travel with the 38mm. I usually pack my M11M and two lenses in addition to the Hasselblad.
My one complaint, which is probably not Hasselblad specific, is the lack of a weather rating. It rained many of the six weeks above and all I knew was that the Hasselblad was more water resistant than the Leica.

One noteworthy piece of info mentioned in this review is that the new 35-100 zoom is not comparable to Hasselblad's better 2.5 prime lenses. He states "decent image quality" and "not going to replace your primes but it's a good, all purpose lens". Maybe think of this lens as a very expensive kit lens - great for an all in one but not what you might choose for ultimate IQ. Maybe this was obvious as it's not a "v" lens yet at least one of the other "E" lenses, the 20-35, does seem to have great IQ (maybe comparable to primes?). If we look at Fuji and their GF zooms, all except their kit lens (which is at least decent if not better), could easily replace GF prime's in regards to IQ (that's certainly been my experience with the GF 20-35).

I was surprised to see Bobby gloss over the IQ like that. Tyler's samples looked great, but nothing about them looks "medium format", which I suspect is what Bobby was getting at.
I think I have more issues with this lens being the E type vs V, which it seems more akin to as a "basic utility zoom".

He did say it was "sharp". What I have noticed with the inexpensive GF Kit lens (35-70) is also that it is plenty sharp but lacks obvious contrast when compared to my other GF lenses (both prime and zoom).

I DO NOT suggest the latest Hasselblad pricing will cause people to switch from Leica to Hasselblad. Like Rusty said we can afford a Leica, but at their current pricing levels they are asking bit too much for an M from ME. Suer some will buy a Leica no matter the price. I used to be that way, but $10k for a MFocus RF body is not for me. So will I look at the EVf M if it comes? Sure, probably look.

I travel with my 907X/100C plus 25, 38.55.90 and 135 lenses. Now I will add an X2DII to the mix. I also take one or two old V lenses along for a more classic feel for some scenes where they can shine.
