Is there any difference between the optics on the E vs Z Mount?
No, the 28s are the same for all mounts (RF,E, Z, M and X). Thypoch would not do such a thing. There may, of course, be copy variation, but even the (C) cine versions share MFD, AOV etc. are the same as the stills lenses. If you get bitten by the Simera bug, the 50/1.4 Z-mount is identical optically to the M-mount version. It's a very fine lens.
(The one to watch out for is Cosina Voigtlander, whose E- and Z-mount 50/2 APO lenses have three more APD elements than the VM version does. As light rays travel very differently through ED/APD glass than through standard optical glass, they are effectively different lenses, in imaging terms. The E/Z lenses are notably stronger at mid-high frequencies wide open, as a result. Plus closer MFD, tighter AOV, different element shaping and different iris circularity too (f5.6). Same names, different lenses!)
