It seems that Sony may have removed bullet 3, can not find it on Sony US site, only at bhphoto now.
"Robust magnesium alloy body offers a durable profile and incorporates dust and moisture seals to protect against harsh environments."
Let me know if anyone else can find it.
I have screen captures of Google search results that show the text quoted at several different websites. Sony seems to be making an effort to retract any trace of it.

Second, I wish there were a square-shaped Leica-style lens hood. The OEM is ridiculously overpriced and doesn't look as cool. Just saying...
Seems the lens hasn't changed since the previous version, so this should fit (I have one from the same company for the 40 f2.5G and it's nicely made) -

I held it in my hand and played around for a few minutes at B&H last night. It’s a -delight- in hand. Super well balanced, everything falls where you’d want it, and it feels premium. Haptics, buttons, etc. and it’s a lot smaller than a Leica Q. That said, it’s simply too expensive for what it is. I like the Zeiss f2 a lot, but it doesn’t command the premium of, say, the auto focusing Leitz 28mm on the Q3 - which is a super desirable optic and entirely unavailable with autofocus by any other means. As much as I admire Sony’s work here - and I own an a7CR - the market perception amongst photographers is working against them at this price point. Lifestyle customers maybe don’t care, and hopefully it sells well enough to keep this line of super compact FF ideas alive.

I see some mentions somewhere here that dust is inevitable for the RX1 series, no matter how you use/store it. Is that true? That is a big bummer if it is, and seeing no weather sealing in the new one gives me a pause to order. Honestly I dont care much about ibis, a tilt-screen is nice but not a must-have for me, but if I cannot prevent the sensor from getting dust eventually, that kills it.
is that a real worry? For anyone used any versions of this camera (I see some of you owned them multiple times), curious to know if dust has been a problem for all of you?

i have owned an rx1 for ~12 years and still use it. have never had any dust issues. no idea how prevalent the issue is exactly, but you can bet that people who pay that much for a camera will complain pretty loud when they have issues like that with it.

I’ve decided to get the RX1R III, and here’s why:
- The fixed screen isn’t a deal-breaker. For vertical shots, other competing cameras don’t offer a 2-axis tilting screen either. I’ve taken plenty of low-angle vertical shots without needing to crouch, and it hasn’t been an issue in practice.
- The leaf shutter is a major advantage for strobe work. Its efficiency rivals, and sometimes even surpasses, global shutters. It lets me travel light, using compact strobes in situations where even ND filter use would struggle. As a frequent strobe user, this is a key benefit.
- Sony’s autofocus is unmatched in this category. Compared to the Leica Q and Fujifilm offerings, Sony’s AF gives me a better chance at capturing spontaneous moments, especially of people. That helps me overlook the lack of a 2-axis tilting screen. Honestly, I haven’t bought into any other interchangeable system largely because of Sony’s AF for human subjects—and the GM 50mm f/1.2.
- This camera perfectly complements my ultralight setup. I’ve carefully optimized my tripod, light stands, and strobes for the best performance-to-weight ratio, and the RX1R III aligns beautifully with that philosophy.
- I’m not chasing extreme sharpness or heavy character. I just want a solid tool that lets me capture moments with honesty and simplicity. All cameras involve compromises, and I’m okay with that.
- I rely on the EVF for framing and trust the AF to do its job. I’ve used lower-res systems before, so resolution isn’t a top concern for me.
- The price is certainly high, but so are the Leica Q and Fujifilm alternatives. Sure, I’d prefer it to be cheaper, but value is subjective. For me, the RX1R III offers something the others don’t, even if it’s not obvious on paper.
Also, I found this Japanese RX1R III video incredibly refreshing, offering a perspective far more grounded than most of the current YouTube reviews.

Terrible battery life - this is exactly what I was afraid of when I saw fw-50 + AI AF.
Well, at least it's nothing new in RX1 series ...
Though the way it's written in the article is not totally clear. If it's 3h of airplane mode but the camera was turned on all the time (no sleep), it's not bad I'd say.

Here's a good preliminary review. Seems to capture the joy of using the camera, without discounting the technical imperfections.
