Gotcha. Never seen that movie haha
Yeah, those are great EF zooms. Throw in the f/4 version of the 70-200, 100-400 and 16-35. I only bring my camera gear on vacation when I am traveling solo and don't mind lugging it around. Otherwise, I am bringing my smaller Fuji ML kit because my back/legs/etc. need it lol
Some times I get impatient when I go out to shoot. That makes me rush and I wear myself out before I am done exploring. I keep a small spiral notepad in my vest for notes on "items" to shoot if I miss them because of fatigue.
My camera time is usually VERY limited so I try to break up my agenda so as not to exhaust myself in 1 "adventure".

Thanks!

When I am solo traveling, I usually just make mental notes about places I wanted to come back to. Luckily for me, my solo travel isn't too time constrained unless it's part of a tour or something, which I rarely do.

My "mental notes" get lost very quickly at 79 "M-T"! Hence a notepad!

One of my neighbors has a farm that has many kinds of animals. The snow and bright sun and colored "homes" made a great image IMHO!

Maybe not the most action-oriented wildlife photo, but it was the best opportunity I found while ambling around the bird loop at the local county park today.
I hadn't taken my EF 500mm f/4.0L IS (Mark I) out for quite a while. Still quite a good lens optically, though it is heavier than more modern options.
Canon EOS R8EF500mm f/4L IS USM +1.4x III lens700mmf/5.61/2000s640 ISO0.0 EV
I have a number of older EF lenses but hardly ever use them, with the exception of my EF 400 DO II c/w the EF 1.4 TC for quick walk around wildlife lens . I had it out today.
5DSR and EF28-300mm IS f5.6
The bright sun sidelighting the City Hall rear entrance cast wonderful shadows on the 200+ year old brick and the olde fashioned "Police" door light. It was at one time the "Police" rear door entry before the City police moved out.

The red berries aren't so prominate in b&w--winter needs color
the words "POLICE" were removed when the city PD moved out of CHall
I broke out my EF-mount Sigma 14mm f1.8 Art for the Aurora mounted on my 5DSr for the aurora Monday night. I chose to use my DSLR rather the my EOS R cameras. I don't feel the mirrorless system provides any significant advantage for this use case and I avoided having to deal with adapters. I have few faster than f2.8 lenses for my RF system. I presume my RF 16mm f2.8 would have been sufficient, but not as advantageous as the Sigma 14mm f1.8.
I have similar feelings Stephen. Not "dissing" mirrorless at all because I have a Fuji GFX 100sii.
I have not found a need to vacate the 5DSR and EF lenses as yet.

Oh..BEAUTIFUL aurora!!!! purple is not displayed often by Ma Nature

Thanks Dan, it sure is! It's an overlooked place, most people head to the nearby Monument Valley.
The expanse is so overwhelming! Love to see this after a snow storm!

I was out again today with the EF 600/4.0 and 1.4x teleconverter on the R5 II. Even shot a little video with it. Excuse the shake, I still need to figure out how to make my RS-80N3 wired remote work on the R5 II to start/stop video. Or at least I hope it can.

The birds are so hard to work here as it's always in shadow. I had it opened up around 1 1/3 stops to get this.
Looks pretty good Jim.
I have a RS-80N3 wired remote, and it works fine on my R5 MKII.
Have you seen the thread for video talk and sharing videos here on FM.com? Canon video thread for hybrid shooters...You sharing your videos there would be most welcome.

That's good new on the remote. I think I just need to dig into the menus and find out where to set the shutter button on video start/stop and then it should work for this kind of stuff. I think...
I'll check out the other thread for sure. I don't normally do video's but plan to start dabbling in them also. Mainly with the wildlife I'm thinking. Gonna need to sort out my storage issues though if shooting a lot of video.
