Any news if and when the e-mount 28mm Apo Lanthar will come?
If there will be any announcement from Cosina it will happen around the 15th as that’s when they typically announce things. So we’ll know more in a week from now
I visited a Cosina Voigtländer Photo Exhibition at Kitamura Camera in Shinjuku last weekend and asked around about the E-mount version from Cosina people with whom I had talked about this lens at CP+ as well. I heard it's coming soon, so I'm very hopeful that we may get an announcement on 10/15 already. However, I'm not sure about the specific schedule and the order of different versions such as whether E-mount version would come out first followed by Z or the other way around. Definitely keeping an eye out on 15th.

It looks like the Voigtlander 28mm f/2 APO-Lanthar is in really high demand...CameraQuest won't be getting another batch until November! This lens is sold out all over the world, even in Asia. Cosina can't seem to make them fast enough, so anyone who managed to grab one from the first release was pretty lucky.
Thanks for the heads up. They are still taking preorders for November, and I put my $100 in the hat. I'm really looking forward to this lens, and hoping they are actually able to ship next month!
I traded my M-mount version of the lens to Fujiya Camera today in anticipation of E-mount version. Got almost the same value for it as I had paid for it as new at Ogisaku Camera earlier. They had a note in the store for the M-mount version saying that new stock is expected in February 2026. I was surprised about that...
Sounds like a cash-cow lens ! And that Cosina will/must amp up their production (facilities)…
Good for them - they deserve it after providing us with such a wide range of innovative optics!
Now with 100% Tarrifs on chinese products coming in the US, true quality made in Japan will get even more demand!
Normally Cosina announce any new upcoming lens(es) (that would be released the following month) on 15th at 3pm JST. Since today is 10/15, I was highly expecting an announcement of 28/2 AL for E-mount or Z-mount for November release but nothing was announced today at the usual time
Looks like the wait continues for a while longer... It's been a bit longer gap than they usually have between new lens releases since previous new CV lens was 28/2 AL VM version back in July and if there is nothing new through November, the next opportunity would be December, making it a 5-month gap between new CV releases. That's quite long considering their usual release patterns. Anyway, I'm hoping for some good news next month then (or wishing that they might be breaking their usual announcement date pattern)...

Yes, I think Otus 85/1.4 (expected to be released in October) has taken some capacity, after all it's in 3 different mounts etc. I was hoping that there would have been enough capacity for new CV stuff right after that already in November though. Anyway, one can never be sure before an official announcement comes.

Perhaps The Otus eats capacity away as well.

I can wait a few months longer, the Z-mount version will be my best Christmas present ever!
No news that I know of, sorry to dissappoint ... but just wanted to drop by and say I hope the e-mount version lays off the sunstars a little. At f2.8 and imo even f4 is a bit much.
Has been difficult to find more sample images while waiting, don't see any on flickr really other than some of the amazing initial shots that were posted in this thread.

Yes, I was told this one would be hard to get, and unfortunately, that turned out to be true. Demand for this lens is huge. I'm referring specifically to the M-mount version in this review. other mounts are still just speculation for now.
I want one too. My loaner was returned right after the review ended, but after looking through my images (and since I really enjoy shooting 28mm) I think this is the one to get.
I stopped by MAP Camera a couple of weeks ago, they were out of stock and said it was very popular. Maybe some day Voigtlander will catch up on production.

Some Japanese stores expect next new stock to arrive in November and some in February next year. I think there haven't been any new deliveries yet since the original launch stock ran out everywhere (haven't seen the lens appear back in stock anywhere after running out) and there might be a fair amount of pending orders by now so next supplies might not last long either.
Personally I'm now waiting for the E-mount version, hoping for December release (November 14th might be the most likely day for any new announcements from Cosina for potential December releases).

I do think I want a 90 for times when I want that extra telephoto reach. I am skeptical that Cosina will ever make a 90mm Sony E mount lens but from Fred's review I think I would be happy with the CV 90 f/2 APO adapted to Sony E mount even though the corners suffer a bit when it is adapted. Corner sharpness is not ever one of my main concerns, but I am pushing this decision down the road as I would rarely use this lens with the CV 50 f/2 APO (see some of my frustrations with my first Leica kit) and even though this lens intrigues me I might want a different 90mm.

Hi Steve, I have been running circles around the 90mm focal length as well. Recently I have zoomed in on the Sony 100mm STF. Bokeh is unbeatable. A critical point is its T-value of 5.6. But to my increasing conviction high aperture lenses are no longer needed, since high ISO and amazing noise reduction has become so prevalent.
Sharpness is no issue with this lens: it is just sharp!
If possible, can someone post a full res sample image or two, ideally with some sunlight somewhere in there.
postimg.cc is what I've been using to upload.
Not for sharpness, just want to look at the light 'quality' after receiving my nokton 28mm f1.5 e-mount.

Failing that, for someone who has tried both the nokton and the apo.... would you describe the APO lens as rendering more modernly compared to the nokton?
I think that's what I was seeing with the nokton, bit more of a vintage look to the in-focus areas too. Crunchy. Would be nice to have an alternative that's a bit more modern.

Just remember that 100STF produces a lot less blur than typical fast short teles. You really need to compose your shot carefully if you want to have a nicely blurred background. It's not an issue when shooting flowers, as you're quite close then, but any kind of portrait presents a challenge (to me at least).
