Man, I'm so glad I talked someone out of the X-E5 and into an X-T4. X-T4 isn't perfect, but man that would be annoying...also why I didn't get the X-E5 and got an X-Pro 3. RoamingScott wrote:
Patrick made a fawning post on FR today about the X-E5 and the first comment was from someone that had theirs hit the concrete thanks to a failed lug. Had to laugh at the timing.

I should think we'd be reading a lot more comments here on FM if failing lugs on the X-E5 were a pervasive problem. I think that's the only one I've read about.
Not really. The OP indicated that the camera was from a launch pre-order. Fuji acknowledged that the lugs were a potential issue with the early production cameras with less than 0.1% of the cameras being affected. It's unfortunate that the poster was impacted by the defect, but I've not heard of the problem reoccurring with later production models.
Oh, but that is not nearly as exciting as imagining that Fujifilm is incompetent or screwing buyers! ;-)

Why has Fuji not yet fixed the focus magnification issue? Unlike older models, the X-E5 in manual focus mode zooms in when the focus ring is turned, but doesn't zoom out when the shutter is half pressed. That is utterly annoying since it requires another user input to reset the EVF to normal. And I can't see any good reason for that behavior! Not one! Thought that it happened by mistake and Fuji would fix it with a firmware update. Currently using AF-S with AF+MF cause the zoom in and reset works in that mode.
