I don't think a Pen f II will ever get released. Seems like OMDS is just trying to get as much juice squeezed out as possible for the lineup they have.
With the X-M5 where does the XE-5 even fit anymore? There is severe overlap with those 2 cameras.
I do think the OM-3 shows they’re taking the brand forward, but it’s not the direction I’m seeking.
Honestly, I see the 40mp sensor about a 10% improvement over the 26 in net gain detail. The 26 is roughly a stop better iso, so depending on how you shoot, a tradeoff or a gimme. Why I could go either way.
True, but it would theoretically be the same size so that would cannibalize sales of a camera they just released. If would have to at least be $500-$600 more than the X-M5 to set it aside as a more premium camera.
i bought the X-E4 whem the store was full of them. such a great camera.
i will buy the xe5 for sure and than will decide.
i will not wait until they are sold out like the 4.

There’s something liberating about shooting with a small system that doesn’t cost a fortune (and that I can use with lenses longer than 50mm, which I can’t realistically with the Leica).
Agree. Got great shots on my XE's using adapted Nikon and Zeiss F-mount lenses from 50mm up. The Nikon 180/2.8 ED was a favorite on the Fuji.
My prediction is that Fuji adds IBIS, the 40mp sensor, and the film sim dial, makes the requisite body changes, and alters little else from the X-E4 (so, relatively low res screen & EVF, only one card slot, etc.) I'd guess $1,399 for price, based on the feeling that $1,299 sounds like the most reasonable price and everything is always $100 more than I want it to be.
The X-E5 Reveal is set for June 12 at 5 AM New York time. Retailers don't accept preorders until then. In the past has it been their practice to take preorders at the beginning of the Reveal or at its close? Those who preordered the X100IV or the GFX100RF when it became available should know.
Same here, the exif data has looked fine to me on the Voigtlander lenses that I have so I'm not aware of an issue. I haven't scrutinized it heavily either though.
Fuji broke full functionality of the CV lenses with a bum FW update that affected most models of camera bodies and whatever they did has not been fixed in subsequent FW updates.

Thanks—I use the CV 27/2 on my X-T30II so I never saw the issue. I really like the Voigtlander lenses and this bug would not keep me away from using them!
Latest news drip: X-E5 will have the film simulation dial..
Guess I'm basically out then.
Would have been interested in an X-E5 with a body design more closely following the X100, and ideally a 65:24 crop if it's already using the 40mp sensor. But this looks to be targeting the same people as the X-T50 just in a slightly different body. And I'm just not part of that audience..
Well, I hope we won't have to wait too long for an X-T6.
I will be shocked if it doesn't have-
40mp
IBIS
same old 126 battery
tweaks to AF
Major control changes are a possibility since the XE4 was so dang polarizing. I loved it lol.
No way it gets the 235 battery, that would change the form factor too much.
I highly doubt it gets a bigger/better EVF, would take it out of the XE line norms, prob raise the price and or size.
I agree the XM5 and XE5 could potentially have a lot of overlap. I worry that they put a stupid film sim dial on the XE and bury the shutter speeds into menus.
If the only thing keeping them differentiated is the EVF, kinda pointless. Street price on the XM5 is already much higher in reality than what it was announced for, no reason to believe anything from Fuji won't suffer the same fate.
