To be fair, no files uploaded on THIS forum look sharp either. I wish people would just embed high res photos so we could see something meaningful.
I just gloss over any photo uploaded here, the resolution is so bad when viewed on modern monitors that no critical inspection can take place.
I think it's more on FM that is only accepts 1.4mb files or whatever the limitation is---it's been the same for something like 10 years.
It's annoying to link files from flickr mobile-y. If this site had kept upping their uploads with the times, I would have posted more. I would guess others are the same.

If the file exceeds the maximum upload size (I think it's 1.5MB), it gets saved automatically using ImageMagick on the server. Since it's saved again as a JPEG, there could be some additional compression artifacts from that extra save. It defaults to around 92% JPEG quality, so unfortunately there's not much room for improvement beyond that. In fact, that is already very high JPEG quality, almost imperceptible to most viewers except for you two it seems like and higher than most other sites. If you have any further questions about this, please feel free to PM me.
The thing that is really surprising me is the size. Feel more like a Summicron than a Noctilux- Nothing special on the picture just posting the first one shot-
Also like my 8th shot Poured a little Pappy to celebrate the Noctilux- I didn’t realize how uneven my wood slab table is HAHA
Won’t get out with it until the weekend on the Oregon Coast-

My comment wasn't directed towards the lens.
On a technical level, given the size, I think it’s a good achievement by Leica. As far as how the images look, I don’t think they’re very distinct or singular against other modern ultrafast lenses.
Again, not sure where your comment lands but I think I’m one of the bigger character lens people on this form for a long time. Anyway, nice for everybody to have options.
This lens is really easy to handle, and so far I’m finding the focus throw excellent. I generally prefer a longer throw, so this one feels very nicely dialed in.
I’ve got plenty of more intimate shots, but these are the ones my son gave me permission to share.
Handling-wise, this feels much closer to a Summilux than a traditional Noctilux. The size is honestly pretty wild for a 35mm f/1.2.

Thanks for sharing the photos. It’s very thoughtful you asked for your son’s permission 👍🏻
Enjoying this lens alot more than I anticipated. Its the first Noctilux that is truly an easy everday lens. The 50 1.2 was close but this is about perfect.

A highly artistic lens made for those with that sensibility as a key part of their use of photography. A very important lens too. Once the asking price is forgotten and people move on to what matters, this one sets an example for other lens makers to study - something I assure you they doing, as we speak.
It's one of the toughest challenges, to repurpose cutting edge tech developed specifically for an APO lens into something very different and very much a new lens with its own special character. Two thumbs up, Leica. (A 28mm joining the Noct family would be special too.)

Beautiful images, sir! It is good to see you write "Its the first Noctilux that is truly an everyday lens." I was already expecting this to be true, and, so, I like seeing an "everyday" photographer, rather than a you-tuber, confirming this to be so.
Edited to add: Of course, if I can ever get to the point that I can justify spending ~$11K US, after taxes, on a lens, I will have a case of "Paralysis of Analysis," deciding between the APO M 35 and the Noctilux M 35...
