Maybe travel issues for people coming from Germany-
I hate to say it…I hope Leica doesn’t release it here for a year or two. Maybe the high end market needs to be disrupted for us folks with cash in our pockets…..
I see that Leica is cancelling other events is the US this week. So the cancellations are not just in regard to the EV-1. The reason must be something else not restricted to this camera release. All events in Europe seem to be happening as scheduled.

We know that the RedDotForum website was hacked this past weekend - I wonder if other Leica sites were affected, too. What makes me a bit suspicious is that the image you posted has misspellings in the description. Normally this wouldn't happen with professional writeup - what I am saying: are the cancellation notifications real or potentially fake if hacked? This one above looks fake to me.
It's super weird - this was a significant cyber attack in the past few days, and if you looked at the Downdetector app, still Meta, Amazon, and other sites were significantly affected. Nothing mentioned about it in any media I checked. As if it is silenced. Not sure as I said earlier if Leica sites were and are still affected.

After protesting all weekend perhaps the person running the Bellevue site was just too exhausted to care about professionalism.

There was an AWS outage- Not a cyber attack.
They had an issues with Domain Resolution in their US-EAST Datacenter which caused a wide spread outage.
Also the RedDot issue is probably a stretch calling it hacked. More likely poor hygiene around Passwords etc.

Sure, it was a conspirary. I think the Illuminatis are afraid that the M EV1 will be a competitor to the SL like you said above based on what happened 50 years ago so they disrupted AWS to force Leica to reschedule their US events.
Makes at least as much sense as most of what you wrote

Why so rude and aggressive with a fellow FM member and Leica user who has sincerely been participating in our discussion?
It seems sooner or later this camera will be officially announced, even though the latest rumors suggest it might have been postponed, at least in the US.
For those curious:
Is this camera the one you've been waiting for, or do you still prefer focusing with the traditional rangefinder on an M body?
Would you consider an M body with an EVF to complement your M Rangefinder for situations where it makes sense (ultra wide, telephoto, close-focus, macro, etc.), potentially owning two or more Leica M cameras?
For those not actively considering it: How do you think the EVF experience will compare to our current mirrorless cameras? And if it exceeds expectations, would that experience be enough to make you consider getting one?

Yes, I was waiting and hoping for an EVF-M since years as many will remember from posts I made in this forum! This mostly derives from experience using M lenses for years adapted on my Sony A7R with EVF. Problem here was the sensor thickness and PP corrections needed for many wide and ultra-wide lenses. Only this experience with small and compact M lenses made me consider Leica M cameras. I am enjoying rangefinder focusing but there are many situations where I still would prefer EVF over OVF - an EVF-M where no adapter for M lenses is required would be ideal to complement my other M cameras. I applaud Leica that they listened to customers like me and made the wish reality.

Absolutely! I will not trade in any of my traditional M cameras for the EVF-M. Instead it would be purely complementary. The problem I have is just to justify the tag price for the EVF-M. This is the only holdup for me at this point. But I knew that this was gonna happen, so I knew I have to wait years to put an EVF-M in practice. But I am glad it will be released soon now.
I, for one, use my M11's only with EVF attached atop.
1.So yes, I have been waiting for an EVF-M.
2.I will keep a RF M or two until I gain an enough experience with the new EVF-M to decide to let go of my traditional M11's. Until that time I will own 2 or more digital M's.
3.The EVF-M will not be as good as current EVF mirrorless cameras due to having no IBIS, if that is in fact the case.
My current IBIS use has been mind blowing with the Hasselblad X2Dii even more so than with the SL3/SL3S.
I’m using another brand for color, but I will look at any new Monochrom camera from Leica. Right now, it would take a major improvement and I don’t mean resolution, to upgrade from the M11M. That said, I do use VF2 with 21mm and am not wed to rangefinder should something else prove to be more user friendly in a manual sort of way. I’m not optimistic that the EVF will go beyond focus peaking and magnified viewing. I would love to be wrong.
