Australia Sampler 7: FairyWrens
Superb Fairywrens (Images 1 - 4): Encountered around Sydney's birding spots. No need to look for them as they were along the trails, open fields, picnic areas, etc. Male shown and mostly accompanied by more than 2 females (per limited observations). Moves a lot but in small segments. BIF chances were limited.
Variegated Fairywren (Images 5 - 6): Encountered only once around Sydney. Skittish/shy and seen mostly deep in the bushes. Appeared briefly for some hurried shots after several calls (guide tried to minimize use of calls). The tail was quite active that most shots cut-off the tail. No other chances after one appearance and shots mostly documentation.
Red-backed Fairywren (Images 7 - 8): Encountered in Tablelands (2+ hours from Cairns). Stayed briefly while trying to dry up but enough for some usable open shots. Responded easily to a call.

Playing with focus stacking using the Remote RMT-P1BT which I find more useful for close subjects than the in-camera focus bracketing. Previously I compared image stacking using Photoshop and Zerene Stacker - for close subjects I found too many artifacts appeared with PS but none with ZS.
1st Subject here is a Bowfin (Amia spp.) skull using an A1 and Sony 50 macro
2nd - Raven skull same equipment
