Wood Duck, Olympia, WA. I've wanted to photograph these for some time but haven't been able to find them near me. Two friends showed me where to look today and we had a blast shooting them.

Sad news from the park where I take my deer photos.
Two of the big boys, a 12 pointer we called Cisco, and a 11 pointer we called Teardrop, have died.
At some point, these two were in a fight, and their antlers got stuck together.
We're guessing that Teardrop died first because the coyotes had eaten more than half of him.
This isn't a great photo, but it's the last photo I have of teardrop alive.
We have been photographing this buck for the last 7 years. We think he was 9 years old.

He looks tuckered out from working on extending the gene pool.
